I was thinking about this today. Turns out it was a Number 1 hit in Australia and I know it was popular in Canada: "Heaven (Must Be There) - Eurogliders, 1984. Yes, I bought it.
One to One - Angel in My Pocket Peaked at No. 92 on the Billboard Hot 100, but made it to No. 24 in Canada.
'Til Tuesday - (Believed You Were) Lucky This great song, from the band's final and best album, Everything's Different Now, somehow managed to peak at only No. 95 on the Billboard 100.
I still really miss The Godfathers. They were a criminally underrated band and criminally unrecognized and unknown today.
The B-52's - Give Me Back My Man - 1982 Of course the album has been reissued by MoFi on vinyl, and the B-52's are anything but forgotten. But this track has all but vanished from B-52's conversations I've had with friends.
Another fun one. The Vapors - Turning Japanese - 1980 Once this gets stuck in your head their's no way out.
The college radio stations used to play this one often. Took me some time to find it. Royal Family And The Poor - Restrained In A Moment - 1984 From Temple Of The 13th Tribe - Factory Records - Fact 95 This is the shorter, original album version. The 1987 12" version is longer, has better sound, but doesn't have the haunting vocals at the end. Peter Hook, of New Order, supposedly contributed vocals on all of the album tracks. But I can't hear him on this one.
