Since they are releasing a vinyl Super Deluxe Edition of the Great Twenty-Eight, I thought I would ask forum members which 4 tracks are the biggest omissions that they think should be added to the original track listing of the Great Twenty-Eight as the cd version is approximately 68 minutes.

I listed his other charting tracks in chronological order and I omitted the live version of Reelin' and Rockin' since the studio version is already included.

Feel free to list your choices and reasoning.

First off "You Never Can Tell" which I think is Chuck's greatest song. It even inspired an update - "I Knew The Bride".
After that "No Money Down". "Jaguar And Thunderbird" which I've heard a lot on Tom Petty live shows I've played recently. And "The Promised Land".

Did you vote for Jaguar And Thunderbird? It doesn't have any votes.

I'm (as of now) the single vote for "Dear Dad." My favorite Chuck Berry song, the guitar sound on that is amazing.

I am up way past my bedtime so I apparently hit view results instead of cast your vote but "Jaguar" now has three.

    I love Dave Edmunds' version.

You are no longer the only.

It is a great track with a lovely lyrical twist at the end. [No spoilers]

I also had to vote for No Money Down. Another great track that riffs on automobile salesmen and how they will promise everything taken to absurdist extreme by the buyer... [although some of it might get lost on younger listeners, "20 dollar notes", "tv and a phone" in a car?!? ;)]

    You Never Can Tell
    Dear Dad
    Promised Land
    My Ding-a-Ling (Single Edit)

I voted My Ding-A-Ling since it was Berry's only number one. The others were all decent hits and as noted earlier Dear Dad was top of the line Berry Lyrics.

I am not surprised that You Never Can Tell and Promised Land are running one and two.

Even though it is great, I am a little surprised that Run Rudolph Run is doing as well as it is since it is a Christmas song.

I assumed that last two spots would be between No Money Down, My Ding-A-Ling and Wee Wee Hours.

Never Can Tell and Promised Land. I consider those essential. I HATE the single edit of Ding A Ling, but the full cut is awesome!

Yeah, Wee Wee Hours was another of mine as well. Classic blues. Classic Berry. It was the bside of his first 45, as I recall [Maybe it was a double-A, I'm not sure. That was a little before my time, truth be told...]

  16. Wee Wee Hours, No Money Down, The Promised Land and You Never Can Tell.

I like It's My Own Business more than any other Chuck Berry song though; that's essential to me, over any of the four I chose.

I picked “You Never Can Tell” and “ Promised Land.” Would have picked “Tulane” if it were an option.

I tried to include only the other charting numbers as I thought there would be too many choices for most people. I actually like Tulane and Our Little Rendezvous better than some of the numbers that charted.
