I'd rate season one best, then three followed up by two. Season three takes some commitment because it doesn't get involving until the end....and you do have to suspend some belief on the whole Ewan McGregor playing two parts thing.

Not even kidding, I think season 2 was far-and-away the best of the three seasons. Not even close in my opinion

  3. That's no "slow." It's called "a measured pace." :agree:

I’m in the middle of watching Season 2 again ( something I never do) and I’m stunned by how startling good it is. The writing, the acting, the direction, the editing etc.
It’s amazing television. Highly recommend watching again!

BCP another one I rate. But not a 10/10 in my book ditto The Leftovers..others I'll have to contemplate, check -out.

Had no problems probs with Ewan McGregor. Prior to viewing I did read something about it not being as good as the other seasons..but after viewing i happily dismissed the notion that S3 was inferior to the others,in fact I found it superior!!! Although Season 2 ( violent/action season)was suberb.

Has anyone heard any rumors about a 4th season?

It's ended but I find Black Sails to be excellent and it may be right up your alley.

    Fargo.
It's effectively still listed in IMDb as 2014 - so looks like there could be another one though no future listing dates. Endless possibilities methinks.

    Nautical Outlander?

Nothing like Outlander imo. Great cinematography, almost Shakespearean characters, lots of grit.

Some Showtime shows are being shown on Netflix. Can't go wrong with Nurse Jackie and Penny Dreadful. BBC shows on Netflix that are worth watching include Luther, Peaky Blinders, Black Mirror, Ripper Street, and Broadchurch.

    Fargo fx 4.
Definitive purchase, gotta wait a year or two at least if it materializes.

True Detective 3 looks to be happening.

I agree. It's actually my favorite season of ANY television show I've ever seen.

I need to rewatch S3. I honestly did not like it very much on my first run-through. Am waiting for it to come out on DVD/blu-ray first though (& on sale) b4 I watch it again.

I thought season 1 of Fargo was very good, season 2 excellent, and barely made it through season 3.
Season 1 of True Detective was as good as anything in recent TV memory, Season 2 was a major letdown.

I don't really need a season 4. What I need is a "Swango and Wrench" spinoff.

I feel the same about each season. Season 3 I just gave up and quit watching. It was far too busy for me.

Season 3 actually got quite a bit better about 2/3 of the way through.

Watched S:1 Ep:1 a couple of days ago.
Liked it enough to keep watching.
Going to have to talk my wife into carrying on though, she wasn’t as impressed

Fargo season two was must see tv for us. Even if we got home late, made sure we watched it before bed.

The drop-off of season 3 was pretty stunning. Aside from a couple of bad-ass women characters, the show on a whole was dire imho.
