Some pretty nice stuff in this thread! If any of you want your tracks professionally mastered, send me a message.
After I did this we decided to never use reverb like that again haha cx Re-recording is happening right now, so there will be updated and new songs up on this channel soon.
"Porkchops!" hearkens back to about 1992 or so, from an interview in some guitar magazine -I can't remember which, might have been Guitar World- with Les Claypool when Primus' Pork Soda LP came out. The name of the interview was "Porkchops", with a really funny logo to illustrate the title. I cut the logo out of the magazine, stuck it on my bedroom door -home to my first little studio when I was sixteen- and have called every home studio I've had since then (even if it's just me, an acoustic guitar and a mini cassette recorder) "Porkchops!", it's like tradition at this point. If I started an indie label (which I wanted to do at one time) it would have been Porkchops Records. Ditto for a production company- Porkchops! Productions. I've always wanted to call an album Playin' For Porkchops! (i.e. singing for yer supper), I just haven't got round to it yet...
OK, dropping the new Curiously Strong Peppermints album. Really proud of it, worked on it over the last two years. Joyous, by The Curiously Strong Peppermints ^ Got limited edition cassettes if you like those things.
I'm in a band called Nineties Music Experience, I'll let you guess which decade we're a tribute to Here's the opening song from our gig 2 days ago, I'm on the left on guitar (and yes, I know this wasn't originally a 90s song, but was a big hit as a cover here in '97)
First song from my new album that I've been recording for about the past year. It's about repressed feelings from the beginning of my first marriage. Sang and played everything myself as I no longer have a band, unfortunately. Recorded and mixed old-school to tape with no modern digital effects or trickery and full dynamic range. Did this song to four tracks then performed the vocal live during mixdown. Sucks there's no other players on this but proud to be making music that's real and not plastic and manufactured.
Hi! I made 2 songs and released them on Spotify. Instrumental Art rock / Progressive rock with some influences from bands you probably can tell. The Crimson Idol
Cool song and video. I liked the vintage clips and groove of the song. Playing on the roof would make me nervous. There's a video of Mudhoney playing on top of the space needle in Seattle and they look scared to death!
Sorry I missed your reply, it's been pretty busy work-wise. We actually had an unfortunate event happen not long after I posted my message. Our main songwriter in the band passed away a few weeks afterwards and the rest of us kind of took a break to put things into perspective. Unfortunately we are not going to continue performing but have full intentions of finalizing the songs we had recorded with Dayne and get them out there. We just got back to mixing and are about 50% there, will hopefully have something out early next year. Thanks again for asking!
Thank you. I haven't listened to this one in a long time. I may revisit the mix, the drums are a little too loud. This was all me, all live takes other than the drums which are toontrack.
