I think it's the theater or film fest name.

alexpop Power pop + other bad habits....

Sadly Javier Bardem's last good film was No Country For Old Men (that was 10 years ago).

Some plot spoilers embedded in this article/interview with Kate Winslet about the upcoming "Wonder Wheel":
Kate Winslet on Woody Allen, Idris Elba, and the Role That Made Her Want to Cry

Having read them, it appears to me that this film has definite dramatic potential, and also the potential to (yet again) raise the specter of past issues with Woody - if I'm properly reading between the lines here, I can't imagine how Mia Farrow is going to keep her mouth shut about this one. Perhaps Harry Block will be credited with the screenplay...

Not that this type of plot hasn't been in films for the past 100 years ... but, yeah, you would think he might have been more self aware. Of course at his age, it may just be one more thing not to give a damn about.

I'm kind of surprised you read the article, Ray! I thought you'd want to go in "blind"...

Perhaps Kate's character will have a little bit of "Cecilia" (Purple Rose) in her. Wanting something too good to be true only to have things crash down around her...

In the spirit of full disclosure I expected much less of a spoiler than what I got (my bad, I proceeded at my own risk). I would happily unknow that information (cue Adam West with a little all-purpose Bat gas). I drew the same parallel you did, btw, re: your spoiler.

Without digging through all the release dates, I'd venture a guess that this is the longest release gap between films since the middle 1970s.

But he had a six-episode tv series in between!

Yeah, definitely not his fault. The film's also been in the can for quite some time. I'm getting the vibe (with no proof or anything bothersome like that) that they held the film back because they think there is an Oscar-worthy performance in it.

Big question here for me is Can Jim Belushi carry off a dramatic role ?

I have to say the name surprised me when it was first announced as part of this project. After seeing Dice Clay in "Blue Jasmine", I'd be willing to go with Woody's judgement. But then there was Miley Cyrus in "Crisis", so who knows. :)

He wasn't the star, he was the buddy. Great movie, but I found his skills not up to the rest of the cast

The 2018 film has a title! (Not really. It looks like the "title" was just describing a scene being shot. I'd expect better syntax from a Woody title than "Dark Clouds in Sky"!)

Yeah, Woody can't give it a title until he knows if it's any good. :)

Doesn't sound like the critics were overly impressed with "Wonder Wheel" tho (mid-50s scores at RT & Metacritic)...

I wish the film I had great buzz but I'm going to swing wide of all reviews until (hopefully) the film comes to a "theater near me".

Just saw that Jim Belushi will be on "The Tonight Show" Tuesday night. Have to assume he's there to promote "Wonder Wheel" (so the director doesn't have to).
