BREAKING NEWS: Guys, I just received a hard copy of the new Music Direct Catalog and guess what? They are advertising Mobile Fidelity "Oh Mercy" 45 RPM vinyl + SACD! Discuss!

Needless to say, I will be getting both, as I find Oh Mercy to be top shelf Dylan and think it is one of the best if not the best sounding Dylan album of all time.

I've been using the Columbia/Sony SACD and 'nice price' redbook in a tube shootout I'm in the middle of.
(so I've been listening to the A LOT)
I don't have a vinyl version... googling for info!
    Thanks for the heads up!!

I have done the same thing, but also have an original US vinyl and MoV vinyl reissue in the mix. The MoV does not wow me, but do yourself a favor and track down a NM original. You won’t be disappointed. I think I paid $50 for mine and it is my reference copy

Funny thing. When I bought this originally (on cassette?) Bob sounded like Bob
but now as my equipment gets better he sounds like Bob w/ his voice changing to
what it became. Anyone else notice this? Anyway one awesome album and production.

Signed up for Amazon music unlimited today and I'm giving this a listen - never heard it before now.

I like it's nice vibe... And I like the lack of the Lynne (wilbury) treatment for this time frame.
Not that I don't like Lynne, Dylan knew what he was doing.

Hoping for a high quality sacd.

The only sad thing about this coming is that it might not make into our hands until next fall!

Wow. This is the news I've been waiting for, for a few years now.
Totally agree. One of Dylan's best IMO.

This is brilliant news, Oh Mercy is a real high point in Bob’s catalogue for me.
Is it ready yet, is it ready yet, is it ready yet!

I thought the Sony sacd hybrid from the early 2000s was very good. I have an original vinyl but have not played it in a long while. I will get an MFSL sacd and maybe a vinyl but I do wish they would do some more titles that were not in the 2000s 15 album sacd box.
Anyone on here have an official high resolution download of Oh Mercy and if so what do you think?

This probably won't see release for awhile. Definitely one to watch for though, for me. It's one of my favorite, not only Dylan, but albums in general.

Great news! I concur with the masses... one of the best.
Lanois and Bob really should work together again soon.

  21. Just got the old Sony SACD and also have the old CD. I also think it is a strong album, but I am not sure if I will buy it again on SACD, perhaps if the upgrade from the Sony SACD is really big.

  22. The Sony SACD is very good, easily one of their better Dylan SACDs.

What’s with the past tense? Is this MFSL SACD out already?

I personally prefer the old Columbia CD.
