It was a good way of finding out how much money a film made, as well as finding out the filming dates. What gives?

There's another website that gives that info but you need to give them some money for the privilege. Forget the name but it shouldn't be too hard to find. Maybe that website and iMDB have some business dealings and an exclusivity deal was worked out?

You gotta pay $150 a year for IMDB Pro to see those numbers. I do it, but I'm a) crazy and b) obsessive.

Eh, I'm just a technician. But I do use IMDB Pro almost every single day, usually to look up some fleabag producer and see if they are who they say they are. At least all my credits are real.

Not as big a deal as the removal of forums, but this was a useful feature. Another reason to visit IMDB gone.

I bet that’s the reason why they got rid of the message boards.

Boxofficemojo.com is a FREE site that lists at least some of that info - great resource.

That is so ignorant. A wealth of information was lost.

Literally every thread I clicked on soon descended into juvenile name calling and ignorant ill-informed opinion. It was a complete waste of time. A message board only works (sadly) in this modern age if it is correctly moderated. Otherwise you get what IMDB's became. That wealth of information I expect can be found elsewhere or if you have specific needs then join a properly moderated film forum and ask the questions there.

    YMMV of course.

Not a case of " asking questions " more a case of finding lots of interesting information. Of course I would imagine Fast & Furious message board having unsavoury posts ( not that I frequented it myself ).

Anyone know how to switch IMDb back to its "old" layout? A few years ago they introduced a new layout, but allowed you to continue using the older version if you wanted, which is what I've been doing because I didn't care for the new design. However, sometime within the past few weeks, it seems they've changed the layout yet again, except this time there doesn't appear to be any way to go back to the old version. There are 2 choices on the page layout options screen, but neither one is the "old" version that I prefer... the 2 choices just seem to be variations of the "new" layout. Can anyone help? I really hate the site's new design and want my old IMDB back!

Yeah I get confused with that.
There's mobile and desktop( have to sign in again for desktop, hassle).
But I seem to remember the original desktop being better.

Agree! I miss the info on IMDB just because it was "one-stop shopping" when I was already there, but I think BOM is more accurate - saw some screwy box office #s on IMDB at times...
