I have a recording of Allison playing with tony at the birchmeir in about 89. Just a couple songs and I think she was very young.
I'm a little biased but my favorite bluegrass musician is Paul Buskirk. Paul built a house in Nacogdoches (a little town in East Texas where I grew up) with a little help from his good friend Willie Nelson (who he worked with on the album, Nacogdoches Waltz). Paul could play anything with strings on it. Chet Atkins said "Paul Buskirk was one of the greatest natural musicians I have ever known." Interesting side note: There's a much sought after 45 for sale on Discogs (going for $10,000) that has Willie (credited as Hugh Nelson) performing on a song he wrote called "Nite Life". Paul bought the song from Willie for $150 and he and Willie recorded it covertly due to some contractual issues. I think there are only a few copies out there.
I don't care. I will post that version of that song in every thread. Avant-Garde? Done. Jazz Beat? Done. Blurays You Purchased Lately? Done. VIVA LA REVOLUTION!
