Not as good as Sexy Beast, but John Hurt's a revelation in it. Also Ian McShane's character mentions Paul McCartney which is quite funny.

The blu rays extras are better if I recall.

    He's not getting any younger.
Just hope they don't reboot the series and exclude him.

Also, multiple posts with YouTube profanity montages edited. Please keep the artful vulgarity in your living rooms where it belongs. :)

Artful vulgarity indeed! Great wqay to put that language. I thought the first season was as if Shakespeare had a potty mouth and an even more cold, dark heart. F------ brilliant. Not holding my breath but looking forward to the movie. Even if it's bad I will watch.

HBO has finally greenlit that Deadwood movie

"At this summer’s Television Critics Association press tour, Casey Bloys, HBO’s head of programming, announced that Deadwood will be coming back as a movie. Filming is expected to begin in October, Bloys said, and the network is aiming for a release next spring."

One of all-time favorite series. I started watching with subtitles so I wouldn't miss any subtleties;)

yea we've been waiting since they announced years ago...we all were pissed off the way they ended it...I'm surprised they are doing this but happy as F'n hell! wonder if they'll tone down the language as the PC Police have a pretty strong hold on the balls of everything these days...vice grip I'd say! sort of different times 12 years ago.

I have mixed feelings about this movie.

    If it's good then great.

Otherwise I thought was was made was perfect.

I tend to agree - if the movie is up to the standard of the TV series, then it will be a great capper and a way to end it properly (or do something interesting like a flash-forward). Never fully understood why HBO cancelled it to begin with - they've given other series a chance to slowly build audiences.
