AITU would have made uninspired solo album, but a travesty as a ELO album

Yeah, wrong expression... I meant the songs that are on the Blue Album (Sgt. Pepper/With a Little Help; A Day in the Life; Lucy in the Sky), always assumed those were singles for some reason:shrug:

  11. "Pipes Of Peace" by Paul McCartney.

Following the brilliant "Tug Of War" up with another collaboration with George Martin, and... it was about as bad as "Tug Of War" was great. Among the weakest Macca albums, it is the very weakest of all("McCartney II" & "Press To Play" also... the 80's weren't his decade, eh? True for Dylan & Neil Young & lots of other 60's giants, who would come back later...) .
"So Bad" & "Through Our Love" are the stand out tracks for me, after that... "Pipes Of Peace" itself is OK I guess & then the less said, the better.

I'm alright with this album. I love In The Evening, All of My Love, and Carouselambra (yeah, i know must Zep fans cringe at this tune, but I don't).

I think less of "ToW" than you do - and I think more of "PoP" than you do.

But yeah - it was still a clear drop-off from "ToW". It really does sound like a half-baked collection of leftover songs much of the time...

I would, too, if it wasn't for "We're Not Gonna Take It" and "I'm Free".

I liked the Steve Wilson remastered second disc that was recorded inFrance and then discarded They should have released that and not second guessed themselves.

It's been on my shelf for years and I decided to revisit A Little Ain't Enough and the album is pretty good about three cheesey tracks out of 12 but overall a pretty solid album...

His three solo albums are unbeatable Crazy From the Heat, Eat Em and Smile and Skyscraper....but I also really got into DLR Band and Diamond Dave.

1967. "Penny Lane" and "Strawberry Fields Forever" not on Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band.
