I saw this movie like, 30 years ago or something... it was about a guy who kidnapped this girl into his house and the whole of the movie was spent at his place...

It's a somewhat paranoic, claustrofobic film: she spends her time trying to get out, mainly pretending to be in love with him... he never gives up bing cautious so she does not ever succeed...

One brilliant scene he has to tie her up in the bathroom... when her towel falls off he turns his eyes away to keep from seing her naked. In the end she dies though and he goes on and kidnaps another girl.

It's such a brilliant, subbtle little film that I always wanted to see again but could never find anything about it: title, director, etc...

Anyone know what movie is this? Thanks a lot!

I remember seeing that movie on broadcast TV in the 1970's and the towel scene was not censored!

The ending of the book is very ironic and different..............

That's the way I remember it. I could be creating my own memory because I thought the name of the movie was "The Butterfly Collector".

That's the name of the Jam song that was inspired by the film, b-side of Strange Town.

I think the irony makes it very different, but to each his own

Heh, I'm getting my media mixed up. o_O Geez, I wonder if my memory of the towel scene was just my teenage imagination?

Poor Samantha Eggar. I had such a crush on her after Dr. Doolittle. This movie was a bummer when I was a kid. Weird.

I went over to bluray.com and it seems that there is only one version of this film...

My own recolection was he turned his head to keep from looking...

something he definitely does not do... go figure...

It is a great little film about perversion and the ways of men but also women in regards to the opposite sex...
