The DVD looks better than the Blu Ray unless they remastered it.

When you compare this to the way the Concert For Bangla Desh was originally released - i.e. as an attractive, compact and affordable boxed lp set - it looks like a massive rip off. I'd be the first person to buy this concert reissued simply as a multi-disc vinyl set, but at 350 GBP there's no way I'm going to buy it. Why do these releases always have to be so exclusive?

Wow- great to know! I've got the DVD already, so that's one thing I can cross off my want list.
    Thanks!

    There are six configurations:

    4 LP
    2 CD
    2 CD + 2 DVD
    2 CD + 2 Blu-ray
    Deluxe Box Set (4 LP + 2 CD + 2 DVD + 2 Blu-ray)
Deluxe Box Set + Test Pressings

    ???

What do you mean by this? If the two new releases use the same master (which they almost certainly will), there’s a 100% chance that the blu ray will look better.

How both will compare to the old DVD, no one knows yet, but this appears to have more content so it already seems better

  7. The test pressing option is $100 more over the deluxe. I'm intrigued and would love to know more but I'll stick with the refuser deluxe. I know I'll kick my self in a few years.... ..another thousand with test pressings??

I’m talking about the current version. Are they doing a new video transfer of the movie for these editions?

Okay, ignore my last post. This is definitely the way to go, something for everyone. Now I really can be the first person to buy the 4 lp set!

Hard to believe this is 16 years. Shame the standard edition is missing Sam Brown's performance arguably the performance of the night

I’ve never seen or heard this whole show, just some amazing highlights. If I have the dough a month from now I’m definitely in to order the 2CD/2BD set

My understanding is that there are only 1000 boxes. In addition there are far fewer test pressings that will be available for a limited time as a bundle.

  16. It is fantastic. A great show. I attended it and the film is just about as good.

The DVD and Blu rey include the whole full show and then another version cut with interviews, backstage rehearsals etc. I prefer the full on show version by far. The other one is good for one viewing IMHO

I'm perfectly happy with the edited DVD and CD that I have. Sometimes less is more.

  18. And that WAS one of the highlights at the actually show. In person the crowd went wild and stood up. Of course she is more known in the UK than the US (if at all).

I’m tempted by the deluxe but hard to imagine I’d really be playing the vinyl cause it’s such a beautiful movie to watch and listen to.

Exactly my thoughts. If I wanted to heat the music, I would want to watch it, since its such a great visual concert.

I have the current Blu Ray. It’ll be interesting to see if this new version has any noticeable improvement.

Have the Bluray, one of my favorite conceet films ever! The original release was so well done and comprehensive that there is nothing more I need.....but those who don’t have it, highly recommended!!
