In my country it’s listed under “jazz”, probably because of the lead single. But it’s so much more than that. Unstoppable is a great opener and the kind of track that keeps growing and opening up until in ends. Really setting the stage. Green & Gold is s lovely ballad with great lyrics about her being a kid and looking at herself in the mirror. Tokyo makes me want to see Lost In Translation again and makes me looking up Japan’s Life In Tokyo. Et cetera… Very different moods in every track, but still a very cohesive album to my ears. And the songs keep sounding strong when she plays them in an acoustic setting. :righton: :righton: :righton:

The Week That Was - s/t, 2008. Field Music's Peter Brewis with a few session musicians, an album filled to the brim with superb melodies, hooks and lyrics. Could listen to it every day of the week.....

18 years ago?! I agree Kid A is great, IMO, but there have been dozens of great albums since. Saying that, I've not heard an album as good as Mr. Bungle's 'California' from 1999; truly magnificent.

I don't pay attention to what's going on with music nowadays, but my answer would be Blackstar by David Bowie, from 2016.

Listening right now to Our Blood from Richard Buckner, truly great in my mind, from 2011. Quite a few since then too, but who knows what truly great means to others.

These two are certainly great albums. I don't listen to Back To Black very often due to its hideous mastering, though.

I bought the vinyl and I’m listening to its rip since. Still not an oldskool mastering, but much more bearable. Even in the nasty digital mastering I think it’s undeniable that the songs itself are awesome.
