Looks like two complete blu ray versions. Not that expensive. I'll check it out. Strange readers comments on IMDb from 10/10 to 1/ 10.
It can be kind of confusing to buy/watch all in right order etc, plus avoiding some of the packaging pitfalls. I bought the big DVD "sliver" box and found the comments on Amazon very helpful as far as what order some things go in (especially the "webisodes" that I downloaded). This was a good one: Customer Review There should be similar details to check out for the various blu-ray offerings.
Face Of The Enemy- missing on either BD or DVD box..so that can't be helped looks like I'll get the Blu or grey DVD box.
The Shield was great, after having just watched The Wire. Instead of story arcs taking several episodes or the whole season(s) to complete, in The Shield things often happen and resolve fast. Similar with the little subplots they'd throw in on Justified - quickly resolved. E.g., when Raylan walks in on the killers holding Wynona hosatge. Pretty much instant justice, which is also the way I prefer it, instead of having to wait many more episodes or seasons (e.g. I quit watching Game of Thrones, for one thing, because of making me wait several seasons to see that despicable king killed.)
There's another "season" of webisodes missing as well - wait actually two others. This is the order I read to watch the show in: (1) Miniseries (2) Season 1 (3) Season 2 (4) The Resistance webisodes (5) Season 3 (6) Razor (7) Razor Flashbacks webisodes (8) Season4 Episodes 1-10 (9) The Face of the Enemy webisodes (10) Season4 Episodes 11-20 (11) The Plan Seasons 2 & 4 have very confusing 2.0 and 2.5, and 4.0 and 4.5 breakdowns which I guess related to how they were aired (?). It's just Season 2 & Season 4 by different names. There is also a series prequel called Blood & Chrome that came out later that is absolutely godawful. I'm surprised anyone associated with the reboot even allowed their names to be associated with it (probably they didn't). Avoid it at all costs. The webisodes are not essential IMO but cool to watch as extra background character info etc. You can probably find them out on the web somewhere. I'm surprised they didn't at least include them in whatever the latest blu-ray set is.
Vikings Game Of Thrones Sopranos Boardwalk Empire Breaking Bad The Walking Dead Billions Homeland Dexter The Americans The Leftovers
Vikings 7/10 Game Of Thrones 10/10 Sopranos 10/10 Boardwalk Empire 9/10 Breaking Bad 10/10 The Walking Dead 9/10 Billions ??? Homeland - first 3 seasons 8/10 Dexter - ??? The Americans- ??? The Leftovers 9/10 How would you rate the ones I haven't seen ?
Dexter 1st 2-3 seasons were a 10, but it than got progressively worse culminating in one of the most groan inducing worst finales in TV history. Billions is definitely a 10!
I binged Mindhunter in one night... FINALLY got into Better Call Saul. I'd tried in the past, but those first few episodes just didn't hold my attention and I moved on. This time around I got through them and then the plot started to come together. I'm up to S3, but decided to go back and listen to the first 2 seasons of commentary.
I've watched Better Call Saul faithfully from the beginning, as I did Breaking Bad. While unquestionably primo TV, I've never been a big fan. I realize how well-loved these shows are, I just never have been able to get there.
Someone just told me to watch Banshee and said it was the most over the top crime tv show ever, more so than SOA.
