Symposium Acoustics Ultra Stealth edition platform. The only platform that my Audio Note UK Ongaku will ever rest on! Peter at Symposium made it custom for the size of the Ongaku. He can do the same for you. A great guy who makes great sound vibration products. He is the King. That is all.

That is the stand my CAT JL5 sits on. Not cheap, but the results are great. He made me several platforms.

I can only imagine. I know what a difference the Super Plus made under my speakers.

Yeah, I bet that amp sounds like pure D crap without the platform.

I have a custom made Quantum platform under my emmLabs SACD player. Don‘t need another platform. I don‘t use my Ultra platform under the Nagra amp. That would be an overkill.

This is a picture of my old equipment... Ultra platform under the amps, Quantum under the player.

My Nagra Classic amp is much higher than the monos, so I can't use the Ultra platform.

By the way.... the Symposium platforms are cheap to others.... HRS is definitely better, but costs much (!) more.

Nice pic. I did find the ultra platforms to be a tight squeeze for my CAT power supply. My amp is on the floor, so no problem. The preamp fits on the bottom shelf of my rack, because it was designed for a power amp.

:hide: Excuse me, while I go crawl back under my DIY black Granite iso platforms and cheap gear.

The Symposiums certainly look nice though.

My Symposium Segue ISO turntable shelf and VPI Classic footer inserts came Friday. The difference the two made is real. I immediately noticed a much deeper soundstage with a much blacker background, but thought the bass was a little thin. It turns out I was hearing some bass bloat from vibration and bass is much tighter and more palpable (this word has come up more than anything else in texts with friends about the change in sound). Transients seem to float in the air a little more than they did. I'm a believer now!

I agree. The first piece I bought from Symposium was an improvement, so I just kept adding more platforms, couplers, and roller blocks.

Pete's a genius. You should all hear his speaker design.

Love his speaker design, looks like it could kill you dead if you touch it but great sound.

A dissenting opinion here. I tried an Ultra under my Emotive Audio Epifania preamp and did not like how it changed the sound. The Ultra tightened the bass but by too much, making it too lean. Even more important was how the upper midrange became cool and metallic sounding. Peter gave me some suggestions to address these issues but none did the trick for me. I also tried the Ultra under some other components and noted the same effects so they were not unique to the Epifania. Fortunately Peter gave me a full refund so I have no complaints there. My only purpose in posting this is to let people who may be interested in a Symposium platform know that not everyone likes what they do.

^^^Good point. This is true of many accessories. Some make improvements, some sound different and some make the sound worse.

My experience with these platforms mimics yours. They do a great job at creating isolation but I do not like the tonal change.

I like the tonal change in my system. I can hear deeper into the recording and I feel the tonality is more correct with the isolation devices.

My stuff is on the second floor. Symposium platforms not only appreciated but required.
