Kubelik was an excellent conductor but is a bit underrated IMO ...

Don't know which big box @crispi was referring to as there are two big Kubelik boxes out there IIRC ...

So it is not the Symphony Edition since the CD box has 23 CD's ...

@crispi said 14 LPs, so I guess it's an older DG box, from the pre-CD era.

I don't recall having seen large LP boxes that have works by different composers for a single conductor back in the day ...

At least not in the US.

Could be a box with Kubelík's Mahler recordings only, no other composers. Anyway, only @crispi can answer that :)

I have the Kubelik's DG LP box for the Complete Dvorak Symphonies with 9 LP's but single composer tend to be the rule back in the day ...

Well after a couple of weeks of work I have my my ITunes collection in order, both Classical and Jazz/pop. I've been enjoying some of the jazz and enjoying it. But this morning I decided that it was time for classical. I never realized that Olli was such a controversial performer before I looked at some of the amazon reviews for this disc. Apparently there is one gentleman who can't resist reviews with little substance. Anyway I enjoyed this disc of Scriabin.

Hi guys, it’s the first one. Sorry for being so mysterious. I wasn’t at home and couldn’t post a pic.

P.S. The top one is the first edition, also the one I have. The blue one is I believe the third edition, with cheaper packaging. And the bottom one is from the series of boxes that DG brought out for its 75th Anniversary, called “Die Welt der Symphonie” (World of the Symphony). They also put out a large book with the same title, which I managed to get hold of not too long ago.

Playing from this 2-LP box set of Choral and Orchestral Works by Czech composer Leoš Eugen Janáček. Issued on the Crossroads label from recordings originally made by Supraphon.

I have the Japanese SACD of that. Can't go wrong with those Bernstein recordings from that series.

I think someone posted this one recently. Now I have my own (for 50 cents!) & it's a dandy. Recorded 3/70 (Tchaikovsky) & 2/71 (Debussy). Producer: Rainer Brock. Tonmeister: Günter Hermanns.
