tried so hard with Elder, bought a few things but it just seemed too cluttered for me, too much happening. Thou is another one I really wnated to get into but the vocals oh man so often the dealbreaker...
The band Endless Boogie, their best release 'Long Island'. (the band is named after the John Lee Hooker album of the same name) All apologies if these guys been mentioned in the thread before...
no mention yet of INDIAN. been thrashing this 2xLP all week. Vocals were a bit of a scare at first but sort of get relegated to the background by the axe murderer on stilts SOUND of it oh god
Not sure I'd pidgeonhole them as stoner, but the OP referred to Sabbathian, and they certainly are that. Great band and record Few more from me: Truckfighters, of course; Dead Meadow; Slo Burn; and lastly Stoned Jesus, who were my discovery at last weekend's Desertfest
I've been listening to them for the past few days a lot. Phenomenal! I love this sound, a throwback Sabbath-y sludge of riffs and prog-rock touches. Fantastic stuff.
I just finished reading all 22 pages of the thread and made a list. So far, from what I sampled this is the sound I could listen to all day, everyday. Apparently it's heavy neopsychedelia.
Going out on a limb here and putting this out there: Has anyone heard this 3-LP Gravity X / Phi (by Truckfighters) combo pressing that's out there? How does it sound? Truckfighters - Gravity X And Phi
