Klaatu first 2 albums. Each song is beatleseque.

 

Always thought The Kinks' "Strangers" is one that John could have written in '68-'69 or so. The subject matter and the arrangement fit the paired down and personal vibe he liked at that time, and there's even a close two-part harmony on the chorus I can hear Paul doing, almost like the other side of the "Two of Us" coin.

Yup! That whole album has so much Beatle-ish stuff on it, songs where you can hear John, Paul, or both.

 

I'm a massive Kinks fan and I love "Strangers," but it's never sounded Beatley to me (none of their stuff has, really). Just my $0.02.
