This song reminds me more of a typical Brian Wilson song. Years ago I've read that this tune originated from an aborted songwriting session with Wilson...

Knickerbockers "Lies" sounds the most like the Beatles, but I don't think it's the best song, so I'm going with a three-way tie:

    "Lonely Days" by Bee Gees
"Can't Get It Out Of My Head" by ELO
    "No Matter What" by Badfinger

I'm a huge early Beatles fan and if someone told me John & Paul knocked this one out during the "Please Please Me" sessions I would believe it.

    Badfinger..everything.

The Beatles' doppleganger....only often as good or better in their own way. Uncanny.

I really thought Lonely Days was from Abbey Road. The song still gives me chills-it's so good-Air that I Breathe-same category.

According to Wikipedia, it was purely intentional that it sounded like Abbey Road-era Beatles--with the different sections and Barry Gibb's voice "treated" to sound like John Lennon's--although it's been said that Maurice could imitate anyone without trickery.

As is obvious in this tread, The Bee Gees really loved The Beatles.

Paul McCartney is on record saying he wished he wrote Badfinger's "Without You."
