Iron Maiden – Virtual XI Label: Parlophone – 0190295851996 Format: 2 × Vinyl, Reissue, Remastered Country: Europe Released: 19 May 2017 Lacquer cut by Chris Bellman The remasters are the 2015 digital remasters After all those years I gotta tell you I started to like Blaze Bayley era albums.
The 51 yr old me loves the album. The 19 yr old me? Not so much! After waiting two years for new Maiden (a lifetime back then) I remember being so disappointed i rarely played it. Nowadays it gets plenty of play on the tt.
I have to say Futureal and The Clansman are two awesome tunes, not crazy about the rest of the album though. I do really enjoy The X Factor. I love when Bruce sings those songs like The Clansman, Sign Of The Cross and Futureal.
Yes, I like The X Factor better too. This reissue of The X Factor sounds awesome, compared to CD version. Do you have this reissue?
Love "The X Factor", if Bruce sang on it, it might even have been regarded as a "return to form" back in 95.

Iron Maiden – A Matter Of Life And Death Label: Parlophone – 0190295851958 Format: 2 × Vinyl, Reissue, Remastered Country: Europe Released: 23 Jun 2017 Lacquer cut by Chris Bellman
Oddly, looking at the cover of Dance of Death at 12", I kind of like it. The unfinished CG art gives it an otherworldly vibe. I don't like how the band member photos are just the CD booklet pages put on the inside of the gatefold. Those deserve to be much bigger.
Damn, 12" makes me appreciate these later Maiden covers. The thought of that Bradstreet Matter of Life and Death big tempts me. I regret selling off the Final Frontier pic vinyl; that whole package was badass. I think even Virtual XI would look cool at that size.
Here we go again! Iron Maiden – Fear Of The Dark Label: Parlophone – 0190295852344 Format: 2 × Vinyl, Reissue, Remastered, Gatefold Country: Europe Released: 19 May 2017 180 gram black vinyl Lacquer cut by Chris Bellman UP THE IRONS!
When I listened again to Fear Of The Dark when this vinyl reissue first came out, it was probably the first time I heard the album front to back since release week. I was really disappointed in it then and filed it away for decades. However, listening fresh on vinyl made me reconsider my opinion - slightly I am prepared to admit that it is not a "bad" album. However, it does not make a great Maiden album. It would have been better served (and possibly better accepted) if it was a Bruce solo album or some type of side project. I think Maiden was totally lost at this point and ironically the return to the familiar themes (and longer more progressive pieces) would return on the almost universally panned X-Factor.
