Whoa. That was a trip and a half. I’m thinking Happy Birthday Mr. President. Or maybe The Star Spangled Banner at the NBA all-star game.

    Tori Amos for me.

Her speaking voice may be even sexier than her singing voice.

Golly, she is awesome. "If I Can't Have You...", Jesus Christ Superstar... I should know more, but those are the ones that pop to mind immediately.

I can listen to Natalie Merchant and Sade forever.

I should get more female vocalists in my CD collection.

Great pick... which of her albums would you suggest that I should start with?

The albums I have of hers are My One And Only Thrill. The deluxe version has some extra live tracks. The other is her debut album Worrisome Heart, both worth it. Smooth sort of smokey Jazz vocals. Keep on meaning to buy her newer albums, and she has just come out with a live album which interest me.

She has a very interesting story as well:

Gardot was playing at piano bars in Philadelphia when she had a bicycle accident at the age of 18. Music played a critical role in her recovery from the head injury that resulted. More Here

    Another Track from her.

I think this is one of the sexiest vocals by a female (Martha Davis of The Motels)

I don’t think she’s been mentioned yet, Hannah Reid of London Grammar, her voice certainly seems to have had an effect on the host of KEXP at the end on the clip :righton:

Thought I was going to be the first one to mention her.

Speaking of which, I don't believe I saw Ann Wilson's name listed.

I would also point to Shirley Manson and Kelli Ali.

Ann Wilson could sing a phone book and make it sexy, truly a Goddess, not just in power she has in spades but, sheer audacious, a deep down bluesy gal, a true gift she has blessed us all with, and she will continue until that last breath from deep in her breast...we all know!

Ms Napolitano at her best, underrated bass player in an obscure band, morphing into a Van Tress '40's goddess , concerte blonde caroline video - Bing

Sometimes it's just the attitude that hooks ya! She loved Tucson, I got to see them many times, never disappointed, always sexy even in rags, love ya girl!!!

I think with some of these, it's the song, regardless of the singer - 'The Look of Love' has that special something, as evidenced by both the Dusty Springfield and Diana Krall versions here and here's another in the mix from a particular forum favourite...

Same goes for 'Cry Me A River', this time from Judith Owen, here with Richard Thompson..
