At this point, it's Kramer's name that's important. His involvement on these releases lend a "credibility" (at least with the masses) they wouldn't otherwise have.

I interviewed John McDermott for a story about "Both Sides of The Sky" in the latest issue of The Maine Edge.

Hendrix continues to amaze on ‘Both Sides Of the Sky’

In addition to discussing material heard on the album, he also references the upcoming audiophile reissues of 'Are You Experienced?' and 'Axis: Bold as Love' and confirms that we will see an updated edition of his book "Ultimate Hendrix."

As a big Jimi fan, I continue to be grateful for the work that John and Eddie have invested in bringing us so many great Hendrix releases. When I think of the state of the catalog 25 years ago and then consider everything that has come since 1997, it's quite amazing. It has deepened my appreciation for Jimi's work immeasurably.

    So Maui isnt next....hmmm.

Hopefully Dagger will release Stockholm 69. Both shows would be good. But id be happy with just the second show. Its ripping!!!

He didn't say that it isn't the next release. He said that he's unable to confirm that it's the next one because the final decision involves other folks.

It makes sense that they prefer not to confirm details of a next release one way or another until the new release has been out for a period of time.

"The tantalizing compilation gathers 10 unreleased Hendrix cuts (and adds three that previously appeared in alternate versions)"

There are only 7 "new" Hendrix cuts (and we've had very similar versions of those before), 4 re-releases (some a little different) plus two Stephen Stills tracks:
Mannish Boy - New take but very similar to the one on Blues - so an alternate version really
Lover Man - New take but we have already had many studio cuts of this song- so an alternate version really
Hear My Train A-Comin - New take but we have already had many studio cuts of this song- so an alternate version really
Stepping Stone - New take but we have already had this song in two mixes- so an alternate version really
$20 Fine - Stephen Stills on vocals (not really an unreleased Hendrix cut)
Power Of Soul - An alternate mix
Jungle- Alternate version (a similar instrumental was on Morning Symphony Ideas)
Things I Used To Do - Alternate edit (already released on Lifelines)
Georgia Blues - Already issued on Martin Scorcese Presents The Blues
Sweet Angel - Alternate (very similar to the one on South Saturn Delta but with vibraphone)
Woodstock - New. A Stephen Stills track, so not an unreleased Hendrix cut.
Send My Love To Linda - Alternate edit/composite (already partially released on Lifelines)
Cherokee Mist - Alternate mix (already released but shorter on Lifelines)

“These albums have been an opportunity to present the more finished material so people could have a deeper appreciation and understanding of the process Hendrix was going through,” according to Hendrix catalog and archive manager, John McDermott.

    Finished material?

Stockholm 1969 is already out there in great sound I have had it for ages as have many others, I can't see how an EH remaster would make any difference unless they have quality bonus tracks not part of the two gigs, save your money and give it to EH when they release something we have not got ?

Will the Grundman AYE and Axis come out on regular CD as well? Sure hope so.

Well they will be hybrid SACDs, so there will be a CD layer contained on the upcoming releases.

See, that's what they really need to find.....unreleased Hendrix material with the Beatles..............

Can we start a rumour??? Those Beatles fans will get to 100 pages by the end of the day based on that one.....
