Pro-Ject - Essential Stereo Turntable (Beatles Sgt. Pepper edition) $199.98

It's a much nicer turntable, but of course at more than double the price.

 

Worth every penny though at that price for either one. I just can't live with Beatles theme. I'm holding out for the Frank Zappa version.

 

Nice. I'm waiting for The Shaggs themed turntable.

 

I didn't really need this TT but I will probably sell one of my old ones to help out finances and keep the wife happy....

The TT arrived on Saturday and I assembled that afternoon - I played a couple of records on it today and it works and sounds quite nice....

 

I'm relieved it works ....just saying that out of jealousy. This would have been a nice upgrade for me at a great price. I'd have ignored the Beatles motif. Hope they all went to fans who are more into the Beatles than I.

 

Picked this up in Buffalo over the weekend. Set it up for my kid as her first "real" turntable. Can't complain at this price and a nice looking deck if you like the Beatles. Sad though that the Pepper logo can't be seen once the slipmat is on!

 

Someone posted this on Slickdeals. So, no, they did not. Many went to flippers and others who know nothing about music.

Yeah, I noticed that too and I absolutely do not think it was a coincidence. I went so far as to block the seller actually because I find that pretty distasteful. YMMV of course.

 

Is ignoring the same as blocking the seller? I checked to "ignore".

FYI, my local Best Buy had an open box on a Beatles Project III but it was a different design, it was white if I recall correctly (mop top Beatles). It was going for 399 ($100 off).

This is the more hi-spec version (discussed earlier in the thread, I think). If they knock these down to $199 I'll be making another trip over the border!

Yes that was the one on the open box. Looked like it had been returned.

 

That's a MUCH better turntable. Includes automatic speed selection, better speed control, better tone arm (carbon fiber).
