How many copies/pressings of the album do you have now?
How many copies/pressings of the album have you owned over the years:

Glass Houses is the only Billy Joel album i currently own. But I do admit Movin' Out (Anthony's Song) is a strong one.

I had it way back when but I don't own a copy now. Still do like pretty much all of those songs though.

I have 3 or 4 copies of the Stranger, along with many other albums, but not the whole discography.

I had it on vinyl back in the day. Very good album. Now what I have of Billy's is a double CD compilation.

Have all his studio albums... 1st gen CD's mostly, a handful of them made in Japan. Have also owned the remasters at one point. Will attend my first ever - and probably only - live show of his in the summer. Can't wait! Never thought I'd see the day.

Great album that’s full of hits. Vienna is the pick of the bunch for me though :agree:

    Everything except the Russian one.

The Stranger is essential. Isn't Italian Restaurant just too much fun?

I've never owned any Billy Joel albums (or cassettes or cds), but I do have what I think are all his essential songs in my iTunes liberry.

So I don't know if "All essential music by Billy Joel" is intended to mean only possessing all his essential albums (in any physical form), or if that can also mean "All essential music by Billy Joel" as downloads from iTunes (or any other means such as a dvd), but that's how I voted.

I like the album a lot, despite not being a big Billy Joel fan. Speaking of this album...

This is FANTASTIC cover of Movin' Out (Anthony's Song). I actually like it better than the original..

I don’t own a physical copy of this album, but I do have a Greatest Hits somewhere. However, I do dig this record other than Only the Good Die Young.

I have his later period albums (Innocent Man on). Greatest Hits 1 and 2 is an absolute classic IMHO even though it’s a compilation. I have The Stranger in 30th Anniversary form on CD and the MFSL SACD is presently on its way to me. It’s his best album absolutely. Have seen him live twice in the late 8os early 90s. Great shows.

i have and enjoy the 5.1 of the stranger and 52nd street, the 4.0 streetlife serenader. the cd songs in the attic. the vinyl of innocent man. and the recent bluray concert.
i very much hope that glass houses, the nylon curtain and piano man get a 5.1 or 4.0 remix so i can again have them in my collection.
classic m.o.r built around good songs.

Stranger is the last one I have. 52nd St had two songs that I liked and too many songs that were too radio friendly.

Being a mutant, I'm a fan of Get it Right the First Time. also the great Title track, whistle and all.

As a white suburban kid who sang and took piano lessons in the late '70s, it was formative.

My first version was 8-track, and I still hear the sax fade out, <click>, and fade back in during "Scenes From An Italian Restaurant." It was a long time before I heard it uninterrupted.

There should be a 'half a dozen tracks on your iPod cherry picked from his greatest hits album' option between the last two options just for me. ;)

I own no Billy Joel but I don't hate him...Growing up I generally listened to artists who were on the FM dial and played rock. Billy Joel was on the AM dial in those days and played pop. Nowadays AM/FM distinguishes more between music and talk....
I may need to get a greatest hits...
