Who knows,I wouldn’t purchase that one anyway. Not a fan of Depp by any means. The DVD was good enough for me.

How come they didn't use Jim's voice? That would have made it golden ....

That would have been Great. I watched a documentary on direct tv,some entertainment channel, about the Jim Morrison legacy estate. Multi Million dollar legal mess. The Courson’s and the Morrison family’s can’t seem to agree and Jim left everything to Pam I think. Probably why we can’t get Jim’s poetry recordings released, everything related to Jim is all lawyers. That what it seems like,I think.

I asked Ray directly about HWY at a book signing in the late 90's. He said "Ask the Courson's."

You'd think they could see a way to generate some money by releasing things by now, hopefully that's in the pipeline. The HWY clips looked freaking fantastic in that documentary. Stunning, rich color.

Coursons/Morrisons each get 12.5 of the Doors money after the split Jim's 25%. All 4 of the parents are dead, so the people stopping certain things have been out of the picture for 8-10 years now.

Man, I was so disappointed that Isle of Wight is what it is, that I went and bought the following Bright midnight CD releases on eBay: Felt Forum, both Aquarius and Detroit. I just need Philadelphia.

Did you snag the CDs on eBay I posted on the other forum? $60 was a great price for those if you did. Philadelphia shows up on eBay once in a while,I always watch the listings to see what they sell for. I can let you know next time I see one!

What have they possibly blocked in the past decade?

HWY, poetry book and the 10 hours of Jim's spoken poetry could be released with a couple signatures. I see no evidence any of the current Doors parties being much more than sitting back and sometimes checking the quarterly bank statements.

Maybe from the mid 70's to the mid's 00's the Courson's Parents used it as a bargaining chip to stop anyone saying bad stuff about her(Oliver Stone was given strict ground rules regarding Pamela/Meg Ryan and Heroin use in the 1991 film). That concern no longer really applies.

Deciding how to market HWY, Poetry stuff under Jim's name and without the Doors branding is the biggest road block. They had no problem clearing HWY and poetry clips for American Prayer or the WYS Blu ray.

I believe it all comes down to the legal B*****it. There was probably less legal B*****it in 1978. Plus I also believe they don’t think there is a commercial aspect. It simply coasts a lot of money to clean up these recordings and make them presentable for a commercial release. Sad to say this, but, probably nobody cares except for Us Doors fanatics.

HWY is in the plans. There is already a set time when it will be released. There is no issues regarding releasing it legally. If there was, it wouldn’t be on their radar.

Have to remember JAM Inc. is management for both Jim Morrison estate & the Doors. Be thankful it is.

An American Prayer has always been their most unappreciated album. Even if it wasn’t suppose to be a Doors album. Superb.
