    How is that a mispronunciation?

In Richard Cory, S&G pronounced poverty 'pah-ver-tee'.

Because the vocals are not at the front of the mix, I thought they were singing 'father-tee'. I assumed that 'tee' was some regional American variant of 'too.'
The singer hates the life he's living and hates his father, too - presumably, for not being loaded like the man in the title.

On the same album, he gives us '...while you EN-JY (enjoy)' on Best Of Both Worlds.

That's not a mispronunciation, because it is not a reference to the country of Armenia, nor to any of the known cities named Armenia (such as Armenia, Wisconsin or Armenia, Colombia) since clearly none of those cities are "in the sky." Presumably, it's about some other (fictional) city whose name is spelled the same as the familiar Armenias, but pronounced differently.

But it's a fictional city. They can pronounce it however they want. Just because the country pronounces it one way doesn't mean the fictional city has to follow that.

"Armenia" would fit this thread only if the songwriter stated that the Who pronounced it wrong - since it's not a Townshend tune...
