I have four it's spread out over two states!:

    In New Jersey:
    Garrard 401
    Thorens TD-124

With a friend in New York City:
    Dual 1019

And.. At work, also in NYC:
    Technics SL 1200 MK2

I found the Technics, on a trash pile, while walking to work. I had to lug the thing around an extra block (these things are heavy!) because of a murder investigation along my usual route. So, the good news for that day was that I found a great turntable, but the bad news was that someone was killed a block away from work!

Renkforce GS-431. Someone gave it away for free and all that was to do was change the belt, find a fitting system (which wasn't too hard as you'll notice it's simply an Ortofon so this player is compatible with almost everything I had in mind), fix the right channel wire and re-calibrate the thing. Surelynot my last turntable, but you gotta start somewhere and I'm content with the end result. (Oh, and sorry for the not-so-great photograph, I took this for another thread without the intention of showing the brand)

Edit: What I also really dig about this one is the fact that, while it obviously was a budget table in its time, there's no plastic parts - the arm is nice and quite heavy, actually, while the base is made of aluminum. I was gladly surprised when I picked it up :agree:

  13. Outstanding turntable! Had one for many years. This is a pic from when I posted it for sale on CAM. It had a Rega RB250 and Ortofon 2M Black.

    Pioneer PL514 from around 1979.
I tend to run it with a gold Stanton 500 cart and Pickering d5e stylus. It sounds good.

    Hello there

Just joined the club, went and brought a Audio-Technica AT-LP120, first turntable for about 25 years.

Enjoying it out of the box, and can see what I have been missing.

    Cheers Frank

Previously an Akai direct drive. Can't remember the model, but it was purchased new in 1979. That replaced a Gerard 400 series. So 4 turntables in over forty years.

This one the Micro Seiki DD-40, mostly in its 1978 stock form but with some changes to get the power supply improved and out of the chassis, along with some minor cosmetic updates, currently running with an AT33PTG/II bolted to the headshell ...
