I have the whole series up through The Wall, plus A Great Collection of Dance Songs and the previously released two LP The Division Bell. I skipped The Final Cut because I have an original copy that was bought the first month after its release that sounds incredible to this day. Also, I am definitely NOT a fan of including When The Tigers Broke Free. That totally runs the emotions of that first side for me. I also have original copies of A Momentary Lapse of Reason and Delicate Sound of Thunder that I am very happy with. To me, the entire series sounds Amazing, except for Animals and Dance Songs. Both of those albums seemed to be quite a ways behind the others. The just seem flat to me and lack the sparkle of the others. The best of the series so far for me are More and The Wall. I'm not a huge fan of The Wall in general, but this version is too good to not like.
I seem to remember a poster was included with The Wall, but in this reissue it isn't. Is it supposed to be that way, or do I have to return it and get one with the poster in it?
Totally unrelated, although I love the new remasters - the Grado RS2e is one great set of headphones. One of those price/performance miracles you run across every two or three years or so.
I love my RS2e. that said, I gifted myself a pair of the limited edition GH2 series today. While a bit pricier than the former, they sound even more magmificent in certain situations. I highly doubt I will ever need another pair of Headphones again. rs2 + gh2 are endgame for me.
Mono Piper being released for RSD 2018. Pink Floyd – Piper At The Gates of Dawn (Mono) – Legacy LP – 6000 Preliminary Record Store Day ’18 Release List Thread started on this subject - Pink Floyd RSD 2018 (mono Piper)
Continuing the Pink Floyd Records vinyl releases is the long-awaited 4LP 'PULSE' set. Originally released in 1995, it has long been unavailable, and (like the original cassette) includes One Of These Days, which wasn't included on the CD version. This re-release of 'PULSE' arrives on 18th May 2018, on heavyweight 180-gram vinyl. The 4LP set includes four different inner sleeves, each inside individual outer sleeves, plus a 52-page hardback photo book, all encased in a thick card slipcase. This 2018 release was remastered from the original tapes by James Guthrie, Joel Plante and Bernie Grundman. Pulse [VINYL] by Pink Floyd
Literally my two highest value items in my record collection being reissued within a month of each other. Goddammit.
I made a mistake not buying 'Pulse' on vinyl 20+ years ago when I scoffed at the $90 price tag. At last this wrong will be made right and my ever-so-tidy Pink Floyd vinyl collection will be complete.
I'm too lazy to do the homework but could it be said that this new set is a faithful replica of the original?
