7.1 rating, but pretty good IMDb comments. Lasted only two seasons.

Touch and go for a while with QT, all has been resolved and it seems he's been forgiven.

Once upon a time ..a original title might have been nice. So overused ..but then again, so fitting!!! :)

1969, the hits were still flowing out of a faucet like spilled wine.

No doubt, but I still think the project will become toxic and ultimately be scrapped. I hope I'm wrong.

    Toxic ?
Think that already has been covered.
Hope the casting includes a lot of QTs regulars. Michael Madsen, Tim Roth SLJ. Story /plot ..in a way it's fiction /historical like Inglorious B meets Pulp Fiction I would imagine.

Tarantino has said he's only going to make 10 films and by his count this one is #9.

1969 puts it right in his sweet spot. If people end up considering it a return to form, it will lend credence to the argument that QT's dialog isn't nearly as much fun without the constant pop culture references. Might have been why, for some of us, Django and Hateful weren't as engaging as his other films.

Really liked H8 myself, realise I'm in the minority. Was it more successful than Death Proof ?

Not positive but I believe Death Proof still holds the distinction of least popular QT film. For me, it's a very arch parody of a very specific film genre - Roger Corman exploitation movies of the 1960's - so I can definitely see why it wasn't everyone's cup of tea. Corman's movies are notorious for being 80% dialog and 20% monsters, boobs and car explosions and I have a weird sentimental fondness for them, so I really enjoyed Death Proof and the whole Grindhouse concept.

The fact that QT's movies resonate differently with different people is just another sign of his talent as a film maker.

Death Proof is generally considered his worst (unfairly, I think). It’s actually one of his more intelligent films.

Vanessa Ferlito's lap dance, Mary Elizabeth Winstead in a cheerleaders outfit, Rosario Dawson just being Rosario Dawson - yes, there is much to recommend from that perspective and Kurt Russell was hilarious. (That was my main gripe with Hateful - they killed him off too early!)

It sure sounds like the whole Grindhouse experience got torpedoed because of some McGowan-Rodriguez-Harvey Weinstein love triangle thing. Maybe someone will do a doc on all of that someday. Rose was great in both movies but I can't help suspecting she might be a little nuts. Too bad about the whole thing though because Grindhouse could've been a great brand. We could use more movies like Planet Terror and Machete these days.

    Soundtrack very cool...
Rose was fun in Death Proof "c'mon he's old enough to be my dad". And she definitely owned PLanetTerror.

The entire budget of the film is spent licensing Helter Skelter. Everyone else works entirely for free.

    Still costs $300,000,000.

I just hope he never employs Zoe Bell as an actress again. “Vanishing Point, mate.” Excruciating.

He also needs an editor who’ll challenge him and his dialogue has long become tired - everyone talks like him!

I still like all his films, but the flaws are easy to unpick.

There's a popular song out now (the keep playing it over the intercom at work) that uses Manson-esque chord progressions - I think they were trying to sound Beach Boy-ish, but it sounds just like one of Manson's songs from "Lie." I wonder if they even realize it? I have to find out what it's called. It has a lot of "Ooh wah Eeh Wahs" in it.
