there are quite a few Beatles cover bands out there. Who's your favorite and which ones come closest to the Beatles sound?

I've been listening to "Off the Beatle Track" by Apple Jam a lot lately. It's excellent!

The Fab Four for making the brilliant Christmas album Hark! The Beatles themselves couldn't have done it better.

Saw the tribute band "Rain" a few weeks ago in Toronto and they put on an excellent show.
Great era costume changes with extremely good musicians who took their parts very seriously and pulled it off beautifully.
I would recommend seeing them if given the chance.

I'm biased because I play in one.

I think the best out there is The Fab Four.

I'm not a member of that band. They are quite excellent, though.

Fab Faux. AFAIK they don’t do costumes or anything but check out their Abbey Road side two medley on You Tube. It made me a believer!

They do great covers of The Beatles, but they’re not a cover band. However, The Spongetones play original music so heavily inspired by The Beatles that you can always guess what song they’re referencing. For example, “She goes out with everybody” is their version of “Please Please Me.” Their entire catalogue usually follows the same formula. .

The Bootleg Beatles do a fantastic live show. There have been changes in line-up over the years, but the most recent incarnation of Lennon and Harrison in particular are excellent (even if McCartney is a bit rubbish)

The Analogues. The voices aren’t as strong as Lennon/McCartney’s, but the instrumentation, arrangments and the attention to detail are fantastic! And they’re performing whole albums per tour; currently playing the White Album in their entirety! Including Revolution #9!
