Not a song per se, but I thought of this anyway when it comes to lots of words at rapid speed,

This whole album could be described as "lots of lyrics at rapid speed"

Is that a serious suggestion? I would call that an awesome song with a moderate tempo.

I've seen REM do this song live and Stipe had to read it off a cheat sheet, not really singing it but more like speaking it. Not long afterwards I saw some amateur cover band playing a back yard party and the singer nailed it, melody and all, no cheating.

Oh, and I don't think anyone has mentioned the Monkees' "Going Down". If someone did I truly apologize for trying to steal your thunder. I did a quick search of this thread and found no such references.

Here's a fairly obscure one - Eric Burdon & the Animals insane number called "Year of the Guru", could this be the first rap song? From 1968 no less

I first listened to some of the other songs that were posted and yes, I thought this one fit. I also thought about posting David Lee Roth’s “I’m Just a Gigolo/I Ain’t Got Nobody” but the fast part was a only a short part of the song. I try to comply with what the OP asks for, but thanks for singling my post out from the countless ones on this forum that go against what the OP wants.

Take a chill pill, dude, it’s just a thread.

At about 1:20 in this video, the lyrics get really fast:

Phil Harris - Darktown Poker Club. Lots of US WW2 slang as well which was impenetrable to me as a kid growing up in UK.

Shakira - Estoy Aqui. The insanely fast part at 1:29 was actually the selling point of the song.

There are many hip hop tracks with double speed verses here and there.
