I think going back to Wings material for the next archive release would have the most promotional appeal. His last three were solo.

I wonder how many years this thread can continue with no further Archive Collection releases. :)

I think in terms of pages. My calculation is this thread runs to 160 and then we'll see some action. A new thread will announce the real thing to the forum.

    So which will come first?:
    --The next Archive set?
--Mark Lewisohn's Tune In Volume II (or whatever it'll be called)?
    --Paul's new album?

:D Considering my "calculation" is based on nothing...I have no idea! (Other than I know it ain't Option 2).

Mark is in the lead, but at least our walls will have colored vinyl propped up to glance at between chapters!

Mark Lewisohn's Tune In Volume II (or whatever it'll be called)?

Back to the Egg is currently going for £113 on Amazon. It must be out of print or nearly so. I'd put money on this being in the next phase of deluxe editions

Is that for a sealed copy? Cause you can find it in almost any used record store for $5-$10

I'm half thinking we'll get a 50th anniversary edition of Band on the Run before anything else comes out. :uhhuh:

    After some reflection...

All the b-sides [except the live ones, of course, which really belong on the "complete" Unplugged edition] [That is what I meant when I said "all the b-sides", but clearly not what I wrote...]
The Deliverance & Off The Ground mixes could be relegated to download only [if disc space is a concern and need more space for the McCartney/McManus show]
Strawberry Ocean Ships Forest could instead be included in a comprehensive Fireman box [containing all three albums, remixes, and other possible goodies..] It certainly would not warrant its own Super Deluxe Edition... [No, I am not holding my breath for this one...]

PS. Yes, I do already have all this material [except for the unreleased stuff]. Be nice to have it collected in one package, though.

I apologize if this has been asked before, but does anyone know why these archive releases have only included their video content on DVDs without any Blu-ray counterpart? Does it have to do with digital resolution constraints, or does it come down to McCartney & Co. wanting to keep the prices of the boxes down? I don't want to get rid of the DVD from each future box, but for those who have a Blu-ray player, a Blu-ray alternative would be nice.

I'd imagine it's multi-fold - the resolution of the source material, but also, DVD can reach a wider audience, as there are more customers in the world with DVD players than Blu-Ray players.

But why not both? I can't imagine it would cost them that much more to put the same digital content in higher resolution on another piece of plastic.

Remember, though, that you’re talking about MPL, which didn’t even put all the audio on ANY disc for their most recent release (Flowers)...
