She was great in Superman, but my favorite was her appearance on Saturday Night Live where she played the somewhat reluctant "customer" of Fred Garvin: Male Prostitute.

That skit was awesome, and thanks for the reminder. She was an angel as Lois Lane and now she has her wings. RIP Margot.

Very sad news. She was so great in The Amityville Horror and the Superman movies. For me, the best Lois Lane. RIP.

  6. She was a fearless actress and beautiful lady, loved her appearance on the Dick Cavett show in the early 70's where she was bare foot!

I loved her in the Superman movies as well as The Amityville Horror. Plus I had a crush on her when I was a kid. When I think of Lois Lane, she is all I think of. RIP to a beautiful and talented lady.

R.I.P. Margot "Lois" Kidder, terribly sad news! Did not hear...until the evening news report.

    Very talented actress too!

I'm researching the recently re-released Arrow BD of this. Guy on the Blu-ray.com site says it's region free, despite it being touted as a region B.

Can't find it cheaper than $14.00, might as well wait for the Criterion. Hell, waiting for Midnight Cowboy paid off.

And let’s not forget she was in Black Christmas, one of the OG slasher films, and directed by Bob Clark. Yes, A Christmas Story Bob Clark

That's a bit sad. There was something about her - perfectly cast as Lois Lane. Slightly annoying, a bit too smart; kinda sexy but not overt.

RIP, very sad. Can't Superman just turn back time or something?

I always get Kidder and Karen Allen mixed up in my head, same era and similar looking I guess.

RIP. She was absolutely perfect . . . in my (defective?) memory . . . as Lois Lane. Wow . . . how can superman's girlfriend die? None of us have a chance . . .

  21. She was wonderful as an SNL host. I liked the skit where she confides in Clark Kent that marriage to Superman was not so good.

I met her about 12 years ago at a convention. It was later in the day, and the crowd had started thinning out. While I was standing in line, I was chatting with a friend on the phone. I hung up when there were about 2 people left before I got to the front of the line.

When I said hello to Margot, she asked who I'd been chatting with, and I said a friend in Utah. She asked if I wanted to call her back so she could say hi to her, so of course I said yes! So I handed Margot my phone after dialing, and she said "Hi this is Margot Kidder!" and they chatted for a good 2-3 minutes before she handed the phone back to me with a smile, and resumed signing things for everyone else.

    Rest in Peace, Margot.

    I'm a genuine fan.
And as a man in his 40s, may I say Margot will always be my Lois Lane. Her charisma was off the charts.
I only wish I got to meet her or talk on the phone and tell her how much she meant to me.
