I am a few episodes in and while I think the acting is top notch I'm not sure the story line is all that compelling.

  6. Heh. I lasted 1 1/2 episodes.

I wanted to like it. I really did. Yet, between Michael's obviously fake British accent and nothing else happening, I just couldn't dig it.

Oh, well, thanks @Scope J for the suggestion. It's always appreciated. :)

I loved the first 4 seasons of Dexter.

Will have to check this out.

Michael C. Hall should not do accents, but Amanda Abbington is brilliant, as always.

Big fan of Dexter and Six Feet Under. I couldn't get out of the first episode, for really petty reasons: the accent. And this would be the case for any American actor trying to "speak British": It's just easier for me to hear non-Americans try out the Yankee slang than the other way around.

Admittedly, no one here talks like that, but it’s conceivable someone would. At least he didn't go plummy or Mockney. That said, given Harlen Coben’s involvement, I’m half expecting him to turn out to be an amnesiac CIA assassin from Rhode Island.

Bit surprised people are having a problem with the accent, I thought it was alright. In TV dramas actors never really sound the same as people in real life anyway. ie. words being pronounced more clearly than they usually would be.

It looks like very generic cop drama to me. I ain't enthused.

It was entertaining — but the last episode crossed waaaaaay over the boundaries of plausibility for me. Other than that it kept me interested most of the time :righton:

Loved it!! Harlen Coben is my favorite author. As long as you don't take it too seriously then everyone should enjoy this. It's thrilling but funny at the same time. There are a number of over the top characters and at times it come across as a spoof. In typical Coben fashion there are multiple twists and you never really know where you stand. As I say, don't take it seriously. It's not meant to be serious. If you go in with that mindset then you should enjoy!

I really disliked this one. I suffered through this for the sake of couples TV. Way too padded. Could easily have been a two hour movie. Hall's already mentioned annoying accent. Twists for the sake of twists. 3/10

I enjoyed it—did not see some of the twists coming. I despised the entire family who owned the home where the party occurred, but other than that it was fine, and Hall’s accent didn’t bother me. It’s still hard to see him as anyone but Dexter!

  25. Yeah I think his accent Is pretty awful but that’s me. Then again I’m not from that side of the pond.
