Great price for what it is but I haven't read anything positive about the pressing and have heard a couple of needledrops that made it sound like absolute mud. Strange considering all the ingredients are there. AAA, Grundman, even a 2xLP format with 45rpm speed, though I despise needing to flip discs much quicker.

Too bad because Spiral is a terrific song and was hoping to get access to a more dynamic version of it than what is available in digital format.

MPO is the pressing company for all vinyl versions of this album and they have spotty QC at best, from the comments I've seen consumers post. Maybe a non-MPO pressing would sound much better? We'll see...

The copy I have is fine on sides 1 and 2, but 3/4 have intermittent crackle and noise.

I was warned of this by numerous EC collector friends who told me to avoid due to serious pressing issues it not that the album is that great anyway.
My wife is a top shelf EC fan and even she avoided it.

I don't consider him much of an authority on anything and he only got one copy. I've read about many people who were dissatisfied with theirs. Glad yours was enjoyable, though.

No idea if the process of returning vinyl through eBay as many times as needed to get a good copy would be welcome.

Since this is almost guaranteed a digital cut, and since Wally was one of the best engineers when records were cut fully analog, the chance that this reissue beats a Wally are close to 0.

I bought this LP when it came out and my pressing was perfect. I also liked the mix, which is another question here.

And with respect to your wife, I think it's a really good Eric Clapton album. In fact, I listened to it last week for the first time in a while and thought I need to pull this out more often.

Thanks G.....I will pass that info along to her after she gets over watching Life in 12 Bars last night.
The part when he plays Tears from Heaven with his sons mailed note displayed just crushed her along with the massively sad interviews of him while actively blasted are shocking as well.

My copy was fine. Album is a snoozefest though - all analog or not.
