After fifty plus years of compulsive Dead purchases, i looked at my listening habits and decided it was time to become a more selective buyer. Too many one and done releases. I'll continue the subscriptions to Dave's Picks, but the real test will be the next post 1977 release. This one is a no brainier. Peak years, and I grew up in the northwest. I love the selected shows, and love the artwork. I fully expect this to be a top five box set for me.

  5. yeah, i didn't even look when i placed the order, and then saw a comment in a thread about $53.99 shipping to Europe. I thought, "what'd I pay to Canada?" d'oh - same.

i've never resold a release, and don't plan to, but i do take comfort in knowing they don't go down in value.

A delightful collection of music will be gracing my home come September. There are 6 shows in this collection that are better than Cornell. :biglaugh:

Kidd Candelario was the taper during those years, so I guess these shows are no exception.

Great art. Visit Roy Henry Vickers gallery in Tofino, BC if you ever get the chance - Tofino is one of the most beautiful places on earth.

CD Box set and 5/19/74 vinyl pre-ordered. I have heard some of the shows in the box back when I was in a GD trading circle. The 73-74 era is prime for improvisation.

Was headed to the forum to post a heads-up because I checked the dead.net site (was feeling something) and it was up, and had not received an email. Decided to check first and of course you guys were on it. Then after getting my order confirmation the email announcement arrived. Extremely excited about this, been hoping for that monster Seattle Playin'. Can I resist heading straight to Disc 18? Or must I stop on tracks?

Ordered the Complete set and the vinyl Portland, despite the digital provenance. September is a beautiful time here in the PNW (and hop harvest time!!!!) so this will be a welcome arrival for those still-warm days and cool nights, and the start of fresh hop season.

Sept/Oct the best weather months of the year here, imho. Mild, clear, mostly dry & beautiful twilight. And i'm a 4th Gen. Native!

I paid $45 for domestic expedited, always good to have this heavy stuff handled and in transit for as short a time as possible. Hopefully, diminishing the chance for damage.
