Not as well done as the two Beatles box sets. Which ones? The mono is wonderful. The stereo is a re eq'd sonic mess and not worth $79.
Just got my box set. # 2650. No download card. I think @Javier Santivanez is correct on the mix for Mixed Emotions from Steel Wheels I heard the organ part he spoke of. I think Rock And A Hard Place might be different as well. Will be checking out the rest over the weekend and report back. @Trainwrecker my LP's were not warped on the titles I have played so far.
T There is no small tongue. The download code is on the white card shown in the picture. There is a larger black card with the set number on it. The 2 cards in my box were between Blue Lonesome and whatever album was before it. Bang I think. Sorry folks I don't play those albums and have no real interest in them. I stop with Tattoo You. Lovely set though and I am interested in what folk will think of the sound of the albums. Despite my grumpy remarks about later day Stones albums I am glad the box has all the studio albums post and including Sticky. Massively great band - even the folk where I have coffee have heard of the Stones and know a song or two.
Well the money has left my account for the three $179 boxes I bought. One is going to be with me in the UK next Friday apparently, the other two the following Tuesday. Looking forward to it
Well, there is a small tongue in the unboxing video. Keith picks it up However, there's nothing printed on the back so it may be just a sticker. Or a golden ticket to have Mick in your house throwing your records all over the room.
I assume the first Oboe wasn't on drugs either. For those who didn't play in an Orchestra, why first Oboe? (off topic sorry) Just played my RL copy of 'Dirty Work.' It would be tough to 1 up that. @drbryant I have the blu-ray version of EoMS and it is the best I have. Have you heard that? (off topic again) those in the UK speak funny American (off topic, having issues here) This set might just be the perfect birthday gift for me!
I like how Charlie was like “ooooh” when Mick was throwing the records. It was like saying it to a toddler who thinks making a mess is funny. Cool video, each one of them in there own worlds. Lol
I wouldn’t care if this set came with a download card, a concert DVD, a T-shirt and a set of wax lips. I’d just set all that junk aside and play the vinyl anyway. On that, I’ve made it through Tatoo You and find little to complain about. Everything looks great and the vinyl is flat and nearly blemish free. The sound here is thoroughly enjoyable IMO. I think that’s all that really matters. There will be multiple comparisons finding differences and preferences for this or that pressing. I haven’t even bothered with much comparison yet. What if one box contained the end all pressing of each of these albums? Too easy. What a boring world that would be. For me, it’s enough that I really like the records in this box and will enjoy having them on hand in one place. This may be the greatest catalog in the history of rock. I can’t imagine not having this box on my shelf.
It will be the European issued boxset which will include all the tongue shaped download cards. Regarding the unboxing, it’s the funniest I’ve seen by a major artist but does anyone think they should have taken abit more time talking about each album for the money that has been spent out or arnt they that bothered? They don’t seem to be, ha.
