I've done that. It leads to harder stuff. Like putting CDs in the freezer and having them sound better. Then, taking a picture of that CD, and instead of putting the CD in the freezer you just put the picture of the CD in and the improvements are the same ... and then you realize what's changing is you ...
Mofi did an amazing silver CD with both albums way back when but a new version would be welcome I would think as the older disc is long OOP.
Personally, I'd prefer No Other. The aforementioned Dillard and Clark MFSL CD is very good already. I'm sure Kevin Gray could improve on it but I'd prefer it if audiophile companies concentrate on titles that actually need an upgrade. No Other is the classic Gene Clark album in my opinion and it's the only one where all digital masterings sound average.
Would love both Dillard and Clark albums on SACD. You kidding? No Other too. Gene Clark and the Gosdin Brothers too .
Awaiting 100% Fun, Shane. Girlfriend is on pre-order. These will be my first IR titles but not last. I just learned on IR here at SHF. I would absolutely buy any Gene Clark titles you release.
Those as well as w/Gosdin Brothers on SACD. I'll play the "Puget Sound Area Card" on this one if that helps sway the vote.
I have the Sundazed LP of Fantastic Expedition... but I would plunk down good money for an SACD of that and probably both formats on Through The Morning... Just wonderful albums.
No love for Roadmaster? I would buy that, Gene Clark with the Gosdin Brothers (in mono) and No Other in a heartbeat. I already have the MFSL Dillard & Clark so I wouldn’t buy that.
