Hey guys sorry for the double post. For some reason the preamp didn't show up in the first one. Thanks for looking!

Lyfsux, with that system in the bedroom? Seems a new name is in order!

love the mac gear and know that it can deliver the goods to back up their reputation. however- what is the benefit of a "control center" component and separate preamp? why is this arrangement better than a conventional preamp that also controls the inputs?

I recently painted my listening room from original 1970 paneling to this nice beach house looking blue. I have tried to rid myself of some extra clutter in the room and I think it is a nice little slice of paradise to enjoy every evening.
    Closed or open?
I like to actually keep it closed during play due to keeping the dust off of my records. I don't hear a difference myself between the two. Open or closed?

A side view from my left of my listening chair. Right of my chair is mostly bare wall and behind my listening chair is a closet that is wooden doors. Pretty soon I am going to need myself some more storage for me vinyl and CD's.

You're absolutely spot on avanti 1960! To be brutally honest the dealer I bought from only had 2 of the CC's left in stock. When he saw me having such a hard time deciding on the preamp (always been a SS guy myself) he discounted the CC to half price! Has a few more functions like 8 HDMI inputs, but I'll probably unload it when I get the 160. Plus it just looks cool, lol.

Speaking of that have you guys seen these yet? There's a guy on the bay, his store name is lavalampshop. Just picked up one and can't wait to see what it's like in person![IMG]

Let us know how it is good sir. The cheapo one I bought from Amazon is ok, but takes hours to really get going and is a bit cloudy

Nice looking room. I have that same Lego Yellow Submarine in my room. I did have to get my kid to put it together. No patience on my part.

My son helped me put mine together. I let him do most of the work. The kids gave me the LEGO kit for Christmas. The only knock on the LEGO kit is, it should have more characters like Blue Meanies Etc.

That lava lamp is cool. Went to the site and thinking of getting one. They are 23" tall and 4"round. Let us know how it goes when you get it. :righton:

Not much, lava lamps are powered by a regular incandescent electric light bulb.

I have been quite happy with the sound of my system, especially once I had put the Acoustical Systems Aquilar tonearm on the Vertere SG-1 turntable, but it felt like I kept getting more and more stands, to the point where it looked cluttered. I have downsized a little, but mainly I have simplified the setup. I sold my previous hifi stands and put in a two stands from Titan Acoustics and I really like how this has cleaned up the look of my listening room/living room.
