No piggybacking the 20% coupons on to this sale. Not sure about the 10% member discount.

Online purchases as a member get you free shipping but no discount. For in store purchases members get 10% off no matter the sale price.

There's currently a 20% off general coupon? I've been looking in all the wrong places?...

The coupons are sent to folks who sign up for the annual membership.

Also, the 10% in-store membership discount is applied to the purchase price after the 50% Criterion discount, so you wind up with an effective discount of 55%. So far, my haul for this sale has been:
    • Dietrich & Von Sternberg in Hollywood Box
    • Tom Jones
    • Midnight Cowboy
    • Heaven's Gate
    • Bull Durham
...with A Matter of Life and Death in my sites for next week.

I've seen a few regular prices above what online sources have as full retail price. 50% off is still cheaper but not quite half price.

Finally picked up Paris, Texas. I swear I have it in my hands every year during this sale.

Not when the regular price is jacked up. It's like 2 for one sales when the price for one is above the price for the same item nearly everywhere else.

90% of the time, 50% off is half price; the other 10% of the time, its only 50% off...100% of the time.

Barnes and Noble is calculating the 50% off the list price of each title. No jacking up in any way. They are selling the Criterion Collection titles for 50% off. More-so with a B&N membership.

Now you owe them an official apology or no Criterion for you! :)

Great movie! If you haven't seen it, try not to read anything about it.

I saw it many years ago- probably in my 20’s- I used to watch a lot of foreign and Art House movies- I just remember the stunning black and white cinematography

that 50% off from criterion is a little ridiculous, at the end the movies go for $21 each more shipping, that's the normal price for a blu ray, they make us think that his movies normal price is $32 or around, a real deal will be $15 each!

I actually know people who work at Criterion. You need to remember they have to license all of their movies plus the costs of restoration add to cost. 20 bucks a Bluray isn't that much above cost.

I'm not saying that $20 is too much, I just saying that the "sale" is not a "sale", is just the right price, also the normal price on the site usually is $32, so the 50% off will $16, not $19.99.
There's no sale or deal here... the sales only works to buy in the right! price.
I only buy criterion on this sales, I refuse to pay $32 or around.

The list price is 39.99. 50 percent off is a great sale. Of course 100 percent off is even better if you feel like complaining.
