I wonder if the son they reference in the description will be the Mike Milligan character from Season 2? The timeline is around 25 years prior though and his character was 30 per Fargo Wiki.

Oh no! Could be worse though ... Nicholas Cage. Not looking forward to this season, but will at least give it a try.

  6. Chris Rock sounds cool. Even better, though, set in 1950. That's where they had me, at a period piece.

I like the sound of this, as Season 2 was my fave.

Chris Rock hasn't been terribly active of late. Don't know if its by choice or if there's something going on. Fargo might be a genius move on his part, or a complete train wreck. Gotta feeling his mere presence will draw in big numbers, at least for the premier. That 1st episode better be a goody!!;)

Chris is a funny guy onstage but he’s not really that strong an actor... the standard of acting in this show has been pretty high. Is he up to it?

  11. Chris from Chicago

Chris from Chicago Experience is simply the name we give our mistakes

Exactly this. I like Chris. As a standup comedian. Does he have a history of being good in dramatic roles? Does he even have a history of being good in comedies?

I enjoy a good gyro. They're delicious. And my love for Mexican food is well established here. But I wouldn't want them served together. Maybe there's a reason Chris Rock isn't in highly praised TV dramas.

  12. Maybe we'll just have to wait and find out how Chris Rock does in a more serious role (although Fargo is a dark comedy).

He couldn't be any worse than Vince Vaughn in True Detective.

We haven't watched season 3 yet and I'm ambivalent about Chris Rock but I guess we'll see. Loved season 1, season 2 was really good as well except for the bizarre UFO thing.

This worries me honestly. Loved the film and the first 2 seasons. Season 3 I could hardly make it through the first 2 episodes. Maybe it gets better ?
Woodbine wipes the floor with Rock as far as acting goes. IMO anyway.

    Season 1 8.5/10
Season 2 9.5/10 (including the UFO thing, genius)
Season 3 7/10 - while I like Mary Elizabeth Winstead (my future wife), David Thewlis and Ewan McGregor all very much I felt the story wasn't that compelling and I didn't really like any of the main characters or find them that interesting to really care what happened to them. The best episode was the one where the cop went to LA. It seemed a bit Fargo by numbers.

So I'm hoping for a bit of a return to form as it's one of the best shows on TV.

That would be bad, not sure if it would be worse though.

Chris was on Broadway a few years ago in a play called "The Mother****er in the Hat", co-starring with Bobby Cannavale and Elizabeth Rodriguez (who's currently starring in "Orange is the New Black")
The only dramatic role I can recall seeing Chris in on TV is that he was on an episode of "Homicide" in the 1990s.

Loved Season 2 and liked Season 3 a lot. Couldn’t get past episode 2 of season 1 which I’m sure gets better.
