For reference (or perhaps to ignore if you'd prefer a more blank slate approach) my list of the best versions (generally because of the transition, although one from below is also because the Rider is so great) includes:
    1. 3/28/72
    2. 6/16/74
    3. 6/26/74
    4. 8/5/74
    5. 12/1/79
Honorable mention goes to the aforementioned 5/3/72 along with 8/27/72, 9/24/72 and 2/24/74. I did check out 10/20/74 and wasn't wowed, but more listens may change that assessment.

All I can say is that Betty knew how to record Dead shows.

I've been waiting for you to go all-caps on something I've heard! WORTH THE WAIT. It kicks off Road Trips 1.2 in the best way and that collection just doesn't let up.

Both are wonderful, neither are worth eBay prices to 'upgrade' over the Spotify/Apple streams. They are identical to the Tidal streams, of course.

Parts of your Oklahoma! show are used as filler on Dicks #29 (19 and 21 May 1977). Dancing In The Street > Dire Wolf and NFA > Dock Rodent > Reelin' & Rockin' to be specific.

Of course, @ratstack, the Real Gone Music reissues of 4.2-4.5 are still available from their website for normal human prices.

Ah! At normal, human prices they are two of the best releases in the entire GD catalog. Upper echelon stuff.

Well I had to go seek this out after all that! Was really digging it then that buggy site I stream from started messing up around Estimated, so I gave up and flipped over to the October 77 RT (since it kicks off with that Let it Grow) - it's really working for me right now!

Friend, that's the best decision you've made all day.

Now friend, let me talk to you about this bridge I have. It's just south of the 59th Street bridge...

You should. Particularly while they’re available at retail prices.

Thanks. A list of essential shows, IMO. Each will make your hair stand on end if given the chance.

I always had hoped that entire Hofheinz 10-14 show would have been released. Just like the aforementioned 10-11-77 which is spread out all over the place and was deserving of a complete release.

My Favourite Dark Star. Beats the over hyped '73 versions with it's sheer coolness.

Does anyone know why the band dropped the William Tell bridge for Aoxomoxoa?

I still love more than a couple 73 Dark Stars, but as was stated upthread Fall 68 has some intense improv happening. Great shows. 10-20 is as you said...cool. Jammed the 11-1-68 Other One suite today, highly recommended.

That's an interesting comment given your Avatar features one of the more amazing Dark Star's that was ever performed by the Grateful Dead.

I need to go find the whole show somewhere. Everyone was really in the zone, all cylinders, Bobby in particular to my ear - that rhythm work on what I've heard so far from that night is unreal.
