Finally! After only 20 years I'm sure it'll be worth the wait. The website is real as confirmed by Fan Asylum and his social media accounts are verified. And according to 101.5 radio in San Diego they'll be playing some of his new songs in the next couple of weeks.

Perry has been recording for several years, one can only imagine how much material he has amassed. Would love to see the 1995-era outtake “Home At Last” resurrected.

A month or so ago Toad the Wet Sprocket posted some video of Steve Perry popping into their tour rehearsal space, saying he was rehearsing next door to them.

You know, I'm not a fan of arena rock generally or whatever bands like Journey, Foreigner , REO Speedwagon, Styx, etc., are called.
    It's just not my thing.

But, Steve's vocals are the exception to the rule in my case.

His vocals transcend the genre for me.

I can listen to him singing Journey's songs and I have nothing but respect for his singing.
Also, he seems to be a good guy.

So, I wish him the best with this release if it happens and I look forward to giving it a listen.

Can't wait. Very exciting news. Hopefully there's some rocking stuff on the album and not loaded with ballads.

I am tempering my expectations, in that regard.

His voice is lower and a bit raspy now. But, it is rich and full as can be. It's uniquely beautiful as always. I expect a lot of soulful music and a lot of ballads. I am sure there will be some upbeat numbers, but, I don't expect any "rock" tunes.
