To me it started as a serious film then near the end, a comedy film.
A few good set pieces must admit.
    Mini series ..
Band Of Brothers for WW2 was excellent!!!

I'd keep the farm house scene and cut everything else, to make it a short film. Ok I am kidding, only a little.

    Comedy??

I didn't think there was anything comedic about the theater scenes, both in the projector room (and if anyone gets a shred of sympathy I would say Frederick Zoller deserves way more than the office in the Bear Jew beating) or the final event which was actually scary horrific. I didn't think there was anything funny about someone getting strangled in one of the most brutal ways that I ever ever seen in a long time (though comparing it to Hateful Eight strangling...yeah H8 was actually pretty comedic and it was played as such).

While it is true that comedy was sprinkled throughout the film, as I described earlier, it was to create a backdrop against the more frightening scenes of the movie. Yeah not seeing this one at all.

As for Band of Brothers being compared, kinda apples and oranges don't ya think?

IB was not about WWII, it was about the jewish women's revenge with the american soldiers journey being the side story. Comparing it to a series about a total war that has many many personal stories is just so out of left field, I just fail to see the merit.

P.S. one thing I always noted about IB...not one battle was ever really shown. Again more evidence.

It is kinda interesting that yes even only taking one scene out of IB would still give you a great little film.

The same couldn't be said of Hateful Eight or Django Unchained for that matter. They just weren't A grade material. While I still love both films, I don't have any delusions about what they are. Though admittedly Django is still miles above H8..and again, the critics and box office are pretty straight forward on this as well.

The whole film just feels clunky to me. Four or five overlong set pieces.

Jackie Brown seems like a non Quentin Tarantino film in comparison with his other seven.

Once Upon A Time In Hollywood is looking more promising all the time.
Uma Thurman's daughter has been cast in it. Maybe Quentin & Uma can now do Kill Bill III.

But what could be told in KB III? Are there still some of Uma's enemies around? Is her daughter herself being threatened now? Has The Bride gone insane after Part II? Could be hard work to come up with KBIII.

It's doable but can QT get in the right pussywagon frame of mind to make it happen?

That's the question! But you're right, if he's in the right mood, I think he'd be absolutely capable of making it happen.

Actually I gotta admit that I like the idea of his 10th movie being Kill Bill III especially since he has promised it so many times. I hope Uma's daughter is a good actress. Man talk about fixing what is "the greatest regret of his life". It would be hard to hate someone that was that good to your legacy (if successful)!

A couple of things I was thinking about though. Didn't Tarantino say he wanted to cast the same child?

Also wouldn't Kill Bill vol. 3 be technically the same film if they are counting the first 2 volumes as also one movie, thus making a 10th movie being a different movie a possibility?

Definitely Pulp Fiction. Intricate and exciting storyline and terrific acting. Jackie Brown is very underrated and should be in consideration for his best as well. A lot of people don't like it for some reason.

I love the movie and I love the stories he tells about it....loose quote "if I would have made his movie when I was 50 people would say...ahh he has grown, it is mature....

Well I don't have to wait until I am 50 (expletive) I'll make that (expletive) today!"

Jackie Brown was just played so straight, it seemed somewhat lifeless as a QT movie. But it is extremely well directed, stylish, and sophisticated.
