Roger Friedman has often gotten advance word on Beatle product, so his articles are always worth reading. He sometimes has details wrong -- and doesn't seem "up" on the whispers on the internet -- but he usually knows what he's talking about. So, I don't know if he was speculating, or this was from a source, but he slipped this in at the end: Once The White Album is a Christmas blockbuster, next up will be “Abbey Road” in 2019 and “Let it Be” in 2020– and perhaps the “Let it Be” movie. Don't know if that's confirmation from someone close to Apple, or just his assumption -- but still, nice to see it in print!
tell us something we don't know Lol! Of course Abbey Road will be out 2019 (already working on it) and Let it Be with Blu Ray for 2020, that's all scheduled since last year and I've seen also mentioned since last year I don't remember where but that is correct, still no fresh news
I'm *very* glad to see one of the board's insiders state that Abbey Road is already being worked on for its 50th Anniversary release (I mean I would've been shocked if it weren't getting such a treatment). Also would love a blu-ray release of Let It Be. Give me all of these deluxe editions like Sgt. Pepper got!
Where's the deluxe box set for this anniversary recording? (They could even include the ending of Long Tall Sally for a bonus. Alan G. on this forum has an audience tape of the complete last song that he made on his tape machine when he attended the concert)
I wonder if the Hendrix release on the 9th of November might give Apple reason to change the release week
The song has always sounded too shrill and harsh to my ears too. I want to like the song, but the bell and the guitar tone and the vocal tone get on my nerves.
I read somewhere that Giles said that there's not a lot in terms in outtakes for the early albums, so a deluxe remix is probably non-release-able.
I'm sure most normal people would be focusing on the blond woman in the advert, but I was busy looking at her fingers grabbing the vinyl!
no word on that yet, other things on the table (Shea in home release, Anthology Blu Ray, for example, but it's too early to know for sure)
I think maybe there's enough outtakes for a deluxe Rubber Soul and Revolver. The pre-Rubber Soul albums could get a 2-disc set edition at least then. The second disc could even be DVD/BluRay to contain studio outtakes and some captured concerts from the related era (Washington Coliseum 1964, Melbourne 1964, Bravo Blitztour 1966 etc).
I bet the photo at Abbey Road, Giles tweeted in April, relates to his work on the Abbey Road 50th deluxe release for 2019.
A certain someone on this board is a high ranking Apple executive and has removed Revolution 9 and Goodnight from the album and replaced them with Hey Jude
