you'd rather pass up the release completely instead of just listen to the discs in a more personally digestible way?

Must be loads of them. Off the top of my head:-

    John Coltrane
    Brian Eno

Does Tubular Bells count as a single track? Hergest Ridge?

Not the person you asked, but thought I'd say that for me it comes down to a financial decision. I love BoTT, but if the scope of this Bootleg Series release is so narrow that it only covers one series of sessions, and 10-12 songs over 6 discs, I may have to opt for a two-disc cutdown. And this is coming from a guy who owns the 6-disc Vol. 12, Deluxe Vol. 13, and the Live 1966 boxset; and has been waiting for a Bootleg Series release covering this period for quite some time.

No, I'd probably rather get the 3LP version (same as the 2CD version, if this release follows the pattern set by recent Bootleg Series releases) than buy a 6-disc box of endless back-to-back takes of the same songs. Either way, I'm excited about this release.

Same here. I love the 6-disc Vol. 12, but the disc full of Like a Rolling Stone was a one-time listen.

I'd say it's definitely good to push any recordings and takes out there and release em'.... that being said, I would for sure appreciate if they included a good handful of really interesting and noteworthy things to make up for having 15 takes of Tangled.

Ha, well to pull a compete 180 on you - I gotta admit I actually didn't mind that disc. Definitely not casual listening, but as an audio documentary of how the song came together, I can appreciate it. Not something you can just throw on though. And not something I would necessarily want from an entire 6-disc set.

    Yeah.

The title was changed at the last minute. It will now be released as "Tangled Up In Boxsets" and will feature 6 CDs of exclusively different takes and live recordings for Tangled Up In Blue.

Tons really. A lot of black metal and cold wave bands do it all the time.

the announcement would be next week if last year's announcement is any indication.

  12. Dosen't surprise me one bit. He's the biggest snob in the fan community.

And by the sounds of it, he's cheap!

Feel like I've been waiting much longer for this years announcement. But obviously not.

It would be cool if they broke up the monotony of endless studio takes and just did one disc with the evolution of Tangled, from studio to, say, 2018. Might not be enough time to hit more than 10 or 12, but it would be fun.

  15. Ha! I may have to pass on this one!

  23. That'll teach me to post before I'm fully awake!

    You're correct to challenge me.

I was thinking of 'A Simple Twist Of Fate' by Gill and Odegard.

I hope you didn't waste too much time because of me looking for a non-existent tome!

    Best Wishes,

I certainly hope this isn’t true. Maybe I’m just turning away from the reality of the situation.

Being a sucker for this type of thing I'll get every option going, probably even the LP set on this occasion. But it is just possible that there isn't a 2CD or 3LP option this time around, just a 6CD set, a single CD, and a 2LP set of the single CD. Could be that the marketing / accounting people at Sony and Bob Inc. believe that they'll sell more 6CD sets if a 2CD set is not an option. If this is the case then for those with limited finances I hope the 6CD set is reasonably priced, along the lines of the upcoming Lennon "Imagine" 6-disc (4CD/2BD) set which is retailing for £63.
