What artists, if any, get your money, pre-ordered, every time they announce new material, no questions asked, with no need to even hear a single song off the new release?

    Anything Kiss, if it's regarding pre-1996 material/reissues.

Anything Led Zeppelin that is "new". But only Led Zeppelin literally. I'm not as eager about stuff like "Celebration Day" or "Page/Plant" stuff. Even though that stuff is fairly enjoyable.

That's honestly the only two I can think of.

Even borderline "No questions asked artists" like Elvis Presley, Paul McCartney or The Beatles, I have slight discretion on. :p

I ask this minutes after pre-ordering the recently announced Dead Can Dance release.

After their last effort I did hesitate, but in the end I popped for it.

Same, there was a time when Bowie was an instant buy whatever was released, but I have had to cut back over the last 10 years.

No doubt I'd be better off following your lead, but I am a bit stupid that way :/

None anymore. I used to have a long list of "no questions asked where do I pay" artists until around the 00's. Now, I want to hear and sample it first before I drop any money. But, I am always on the lookout for new compelling music.

Although David Rawlings most recent album was a bit of a letdown, Gillian Welch can do no wrong in my book, and as a duo they are about as good as it gets, especially live.

Before today I would've said The Monkees, but I just found out they're putting out an X-mas album so I think that streak is broke.

So I guess now just Mike Nesmith solo, Neko Case, Lydia Loveless and Dar Williams.

Livin in the ****in' golden age right now y'all. The following are all absolutely no-hesitation blind purchases for me... and I'm on a teacher's salary!

    Hiss Golden Messenger
    Joan Shelley /// Nathan Salsburg
    William Tyler
    Will Oldham / BPB
    Gillian Welch /// David Rawlings
    The War on Drugs
    Spoon
    Nina Nastasia
    Joanna Newsom

fmfxray373 Capitol LPs in the 70s were pretty good.

    McCartney
    Dylan
    Ian Hunter
    Coldplay
    Elvis Costello
    Van Morrison

That would be a new cd or perhaps standard LP release. Not necessarily a deluxe box set. I can usually afford the $11.99 cd release special. Although with my Target downsizing and Best Buy ending cd sales
newer cds are more $$ because you have to go to B & N and pay more than list price or order online.

Beatles/Solo and Springsteen are the only artists that completely qualify, and if all of the Bruce archival sets are included, not even he makes cut. Some that are close: Stones and Dylan.

I got to see them "crash" a Conor Oberst show at the Ryman a few years ago. It was lovely.
