The album is called Other People's Stuff and will be released on November 16th. He will tour in support of the album in 2019 starting in February. I'm a big Mellencamp fan so I'm really excited for this.

Sounds like it could be a cover album. Apparently he's giving away physical copies of the album for each ticket purchase of his upcoming tour.

Cool. I am still hoping for a German tour or a single Munich Concert, but I know this will never happen due to his health issues. :shake:. But I am looking forward to the next album.

I don't know what health issues he has other than his inability to stop smoking. What are you referring to?

If you are a John Mellencamp fan, the 2010, 2011 No Better Than This tour was the one to see. He played songs spanning across his entire career. He did a 30 song set on that tour. I've seen him since and he is still great, but he'll never do a huge tour like that again.

Other People’s Stuff is a cover album.

Totally agree on NBTT tour in 10/11.

According to one of the admins on the Mellencamp forums the new album should be up for pre-order around October 15th. I assume the track listing, etc. will be revealed then as well.

So this is basically recycled material, minus a couple of songs.

Yeah, pretty disappointing. I have at least 5 of the 10 songs on other albums.

Pulling two songs from the other covers album and one from the most recent album seems very odd.

    I'm a Mellencamp completists so I'm all-in.

Although I can't say I've listened to Sad Clowns & Hillbillies or No Better Than This more than 2 times since they were released. Last one I really got into was Life Death Love & Freedom.

I agree, but i thought the recent ''Sad Clowns & Hillbillies'' tour was pretty awesome too, i consider it one of his best ever.

Really? I saw him on the Plain Spoken tour at the Ryman and it was good but not as strong as in the past. He's coming back to Nashville next year. Maybe I should see him again. What made the Sad Clowns Tour stand out so much?

Quoting myself, if anyone is not familiar with the guitarist on this track, it's fellow Indiana native Reverend Peyton.

His part was recorded live, playing both the guitar and bass simultaneously - fingerpicking the lead, the slide on his left pinky finger, and the bass played with his thumb. No pedals, no loop, no multitrack.
