  1. Genesis live recordings from their archives of soundboard tapes. They've promised it for years, but have never released anything. I would have bought everything that came out.

just about anything that has come out of jimmy page's mouth in the last 10 years....and yes this includes the plethora of "new material" he was putting on the led zeppelin reissues that ended up being rehearsals, outtakes, and snippets of songs all previously released.

I already knew this but another interesting note is that I Wanna Be Your Man was replaced by Time Is On My Side at the last minute in the U.K. version of Big Hits.

Didn't Stones cut a title track called "Aftermath", which was never released?

Duran Duran (The Wedding Album) vinyl reissue, announced a few years ago. Never happened. I even pre-ordered a copy.

I think there are a very few 60's live Spoonful tapes that were almost released a few years ago. Don't know what happened. I'd buy them in a second. Good suggestion, Panda

They have been announced at least 3 to 4 years ago, given catalog numbers & artwork & put on presale on various vendors sites but have yet to see the light of day, starting to think they where shelved.

From what I remember, Bruce recorded this on a Tascam 4 track cassette multitrack recorder.

This was announced in an early 2006 issue of Mojo too, and sounded like a done deal. Never happened.

It made it to ICE. Varese label
I used to know a guy who was a huge Spoonful fan. He was friends with a guy who was a dealer in paper memorabilia (contracts, setlists, etc---anything autographed). The papers to ok the release were signed by all except Sebastian (yes, Zal was still alive). He very clearly marked 'no' on the form.

You just reminded me of another one:

    Duran Duran
    Reportage

Their 2nd reunion album with Andy.

Replaced with the underwhelming Red Carpet Massacre

The Who's December 4, 1973 show in Philadelphia was recorded and broadcast soon after, and widely bootlegged. An official release was announced in 1996, and even made it to the promo-copy stage before it was nixed (by Pete, I think).

In 1994, MCA wanted to release the Who's Woodstock set, but Pete wouldn't sign off on it.

Sony was preparing to release a deluxe 2CD set of the Clash's Combat Rock around 2004-5, and it was to include the original Rat Patrol From Fort Bragg mix and tracklisting. But Mick Jones nixed it, saying it wouldn't feel right to release it without Joe Strummer's input, particularly as they'd had many arguments and disagreements during that project.
