The track was used here in the UK as the theme to a TV cookery show in 1972. Although I had no idea it was The Beatles at the time, I loved it as soon as I heard it. About a year later, I heard the White Album for the first time and recognised it as the song from the cookery show! I've always had a soft spot for Savoy Truffle though.
Looking at the listings for the 3 bonus CD's of the alt-takes, are these meant to be presented chronologically as they were recorded?
Just listened to USSR Esher Demo on Apple Music , what a way to end White Album day. It’s goona be worth it just for that third disc.
This annoys me too. If you have the time, it's easily remedied using Audacity. Just cut the missing part from where it shouldn't be and then paste it onto the track that it's missing from. Naturally, you shouldn't have to do this but at least going forward the track will sound right.
I see you talk about this on almost every single thread where you are interested in pre-ordering, and few listen! Amazon makes it SO EASY.
Well that didn't take long, only an entire morning... The Beatles' 'White Album' 50th Reissue is #1-Seller - Best Classic Bands
I only do because folks keep asking how it all works. It is simple really but some just can't see to grab the concept. Now if someone doesn't want to buy from them because they are the big bad conglomerate, then so be it. But many folks here keep switching between vendors when the difference is only a few dollars cheaper, so they should know about this option.
i always hold out on these releases and buy from my local b/m and get to see the box ahead of time to examine for damage. can't tell you the number of individual purchases I've had come thru damaged when I buy online. Plus my local always has the extra "schwag" to hand out and will usually give me access to the product when they receive vs holding out for the "on sale" date. And the prices is ALWAYS below the going rate. So, while it won't be 128, ill have it that day(at least), damage free, and get the extra freebies... no brainer for me
Regarding the pictures of Paul and Ringo behind a double bassdrum kit. Speculation: i think it is the Don’t Pass Me By session. Ringo is on piano and drums and so is Paul. It is a true double drumming with two different drummers song.
You may be unfamiliar with the artist who made the original drawing that was doctored to include Lennon...the one posted by Mal a few pages back. Some of us got the pun, the artist's name is Maurice Escher, he died in 1972. That's the reference that some of us are responding to. If that's not what you mean then I apologise.
From all the snippets of the remixes I’ve heard so far, I’m very happy with them. The only one I’m disappointed in is Gently Weeps. I was hoping the remix would really open up that song up but it sounds quite similar to the original mix.
